Did I just close my cuticles?

Hey Curly Ladies~
I just did a prepoo, wash, and DT under my new Huetiful Steamer (YAY). I keep my leave in conditioner in the fridge and apply it right after I rinse out the DT. The leave in was super cold and as I was smoothing it into my hair I wondered, is the coldness closing my hair cuticle? So I thought I'd ask you all.

Thanks Lynnie. I thought so, but I wanted to be sure. Now I don't have to rinse my hair with cold water!!

You want your cuticles to be OPEN while your hair is being conditioned. You should sit under a hooded dryer or you can just put a plastic cap over your hair and natural body heat will warm up the scalp. THEN you rinse with cool water to close the cuticle after it has been conditioned.

My cuticles were open while I conditioned. I sat under the steamer for 20 minutes. The leave in conditioner was cold.

ok! *phew* LOL I must've read it too fast! I was thinking to myself "oh no she's closing her cuticles too soon!"

Did the cold leave in make your hair smoother i.e. less frizz? Let me know cause I am trying to combat frizz.
