Ahhhh....DO I HAVE TO?!

Hi Ladies!! My question is this: Do you HAVE to do a big chop or will trimming your hair in intervals be just as effective??

I honestly just trimmed it little by little and some broke off i never actually did a big chop nor did my mom or sister we just trimmed it away until we were natural. Like the other ladies said, you dont have to big chop. I say cut about an inch every 6-8 weeks until you eventually cut all the relaxed ends off.
