BCZ I PUT GEL IN MY HAIR I CO-WASH EVERY 2 DAYS. I USE SUAVE COCONUT CONDITIONER, I DNT RINSE ALL OF IT OUT THOUGH. I PUT SOME GEL IN IT AND GO. I USE KEMI OIL TO KEEP MOISTURE IN MY HAIR. I SAY TRY THE "CHEAP" STUFF FIRST AND KEEP IT SIMPLE. A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE GIOVANNI DIRECT LEAVE-IN OR AUSSIE MOIST CONDITIONER.

VO5 Moisture Milks is my favorite because it is inexpensive and has a thinner consistency.

I co wash with Giovanni smooth as silk or Aubrey organics honey suckle rose (I'm still trying to decided which ones my favorite)..I co-wash everyday because I also use gel..and I moisturize my hair after i wash it with my leave in (Giovanni Direct Leave), then I seal the moisture in with my shea butter mix (shea butter, EVOO,coconut oil, castor oil), then I add my gel and satin bonnet to go to sleep..in the morning I refresh my TWA with a spritz I made consiting of 5 oz water, 1 oz glycerin, and essential oils..Im 2 weeks post my BC and I'm already seeing growth!!!! The CANTU Shea Butter Leave In conditioner is a good co-washer for me.

A Leave In - I know, right?

And I moisturize every day - I have too, my hair is incredibly thick. I use Carols Daughter hair balm, and/or Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie.

I use HEHH or HETT for my co-wash then I leave some in and seal w/coconut oil. Then I rake some gel through (I use HETT gel) and shake (this is all done on soaking wet hair in the shower). Then I plop a t-shirt on my head to soak up the extra water, then shake again and go.

Oh yea and I moisturize my hair 2x daily w/either my spray bottle mix or my Elasta QP Mango butter

I typically moisturize twice a day.

I do not recommend them because they contain silicones (plastics). They coat the hair instead of penetrating and nourishing the hair. If you use them, I would suggest doing so as the last step (after silicone and sulfate free cleanser, conditioner, leave in conditioner/styler). This way your hair will be nourished.

Since I'm pretty heavy handed with products & I just get "lost" while massaging my scalp so I use ALOT, I try to stick with inexpensive products for my co-washes. I got a HUGE pump bottle of Suave Humectant from Walmart for $5. I like that it is a humectant b/c my hair is dry & I need all the moisture I can stand.

I also sometimes use Herbal Essence: Hello Hydration or Totally Twisted or Aussie Moist.

I've recently (today) tried Hair One from Sally's and I am in LOVE! The bottle is pretty small though for $11 so I probably won't use it every time I co-wash.
