Figured out the wash-n-go (pics)
Ok, these pics do not have orbs in them like the other pics I posted, but I think I figured out how to do a wash-n-go on my hair. My hair does not have a curl pattern. So I was dealing with my 5 day old twistouts and I did not feeling like washing and retwisting. I really wanted to do a wash-n-go but my hair does not do that. So I figured, what if I just stand under the shower and glop condish on it. Don't comb it and barely handle it. Then rinse the condish out and still not comb or handle it. I wanted to try to keep the twistout clumps intact. So I jumped in the shower and cowashed and rinsed. I tried the Tightly Curly method with much disaster in the past. So I thought, instead of using condish, what about some eco-styler and olive oil. With my hair still wet and the twistout clumps somewhat intact, I put about a tablespoon of olive oil in my hands and ran it down a handful of hair. Then I put a big glop of ecostyler on it and smoshed it in. THen I put a little bit more ecostyler on each individual clump. I did that to all of my hair. Julian wanted to go outside and play in her kiddie pool so I figured that would be perfect to let it dry. It was 98 degrees and she could not be outside long. It dried in 20 minutes. I did not like the results at first. It still looks kind of gheri curlish. But then I took my glasses off and cleaned the oil off of them and noticed that my hair looked alot better! lol! Here are the pictures. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I do not know why my hair looks so shiney and cute in a pic but it does not look that was in real life (or maybe it does)! There are no white flakes. So, I think I can pull this look off. My hair would not have done this if I would not have kept those twistout clumps. If I would have detangled with that condish in then my hair would have looked like the first pic. This only took about 15 minutes to do and 20 minutes to dry. So if you are like me with no curl pattern, and you cannot get the wash-n-go to work then use your twistout clumps like theyare your own curls!

It looks great! I would never guess that you have no curl pattern.

Thank you! I am really diggin' my new found "curls". My hair is a frizzy mess. My hair will not clump and it is fuzzy. I think that is why KCCC and Curls and other lines work for other ladies and not me. Most people on here seem to have curls. Whether they are tight curls or loose curls, they have curls and those products work for those ladies. I had to get it through my head that those products will NOT give me curls, only define or tame the curls I have. Well, I did not have any and that is why those thigs don't work for me. I am so happy and I hope that I have helped at lease one other person with no curl patter!BajanPrincess82 wrote:It looks great! I would never guess that you have no curl pattern.

I'll have to keep this in mind when my hair grows out a little more. Although I have curls in the back and on the sides, the top is a frizzy undefined mess. I've just been putting cornrows in the front and wng in the back. Thanks DreamMerchant.

This is great! I've always noticed that when I wash my hair after a twist out that I have great "curls" and I wondered if I could just do a wash and go like that and still have the curls. Now I know it will work and I can't wait to give it a try! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Figured out the wash-n-go (pics)
Thanks ladies. I refreshed the "curls" by crunching 1 pump of Hawaiian Silky on a section. That gave me shine and moisture and keeping those clumps intact. I wonder if I could cowash again with these same clumps and try the method again? Hmmm..........
Re: Figured out the wash-n-go (pics)
Your hair looks great. Not like a jheri curl at all. I did the same thing today except I used my leave-in after I cowashed. I just used coconut oil instead of EVOO.

I have a hair sack that I use that allows my hair to stay covered but it hangs down into the sack so that it is not all bunched up like when I was wearing a bonnet or a doo rag. It is called a Stay On Satin Pocket Bonnet. I love this this so much. They were on sale last year at Salley's for 99 cents. I picked up two of them. Here is the link to what they look like.

I tunr mine inside out so that that huge fabric crease is not smashed against my forehead giving me that line. I do not need any wrinkles! This has stayed on better that anything I have tried. I even wear it under my motorcycle helmet.
This is a video of me putting it on and explaining why I love it sooooo much.

Oh yes, I've seen that in the BSS. My hair is still pretty short. I've been mini chopping at it for weeks, so a satin bonnet will do for me. I hope it's not a smooshed mess in the morning. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It took the longest time for head to get shaped into my doo rag and as soon as it started fitting just right I lost it! It took about 8 months for that thing to mold to my head. Thank you for the compliments! I may have to do a youtube tutorial on this one once I get it tweeked just right.
Re: Figured out the wash-n-go (pics)
love your WNG! IM GONNA TRY IT. I JUST tried KCCC last week and it didnt work out. i only applied it to a small section in the back and front of my hair, my hair didnt really have much of a curl so it basically looked the same as it does with conditioner only.
this is a great idea, i hope my hair will look half as good as yours [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Doesn't it feel great when you get an idea, and it pans out!!!
What may also help is doing everything with twists. For instance, you can place your hair in medium to large size twists before cleansing, after applying conditioner, when DC’ing and after applying styling products. I have done this recently, and it helps a bunch. Grace (my hair’s name) has a problem with definition also in some spots. Working in twists seems to help the curls find each other (clump).

Thank you! That is a fabulous idea! I will definately keep that in mind. It still needs some tweaking but this is far better than anything else I have tried.

Thank you Blondie. Hey, some one said that you knew about paranormal stuff. I had captured some orbs in a couple of pics that I took and I was wondering if you would go to that thread and tell me what you thought about it. I am interested to know!

DreamMerchang your hair is lovely with this wash n go. I am going to try this method. I have a question. Did you have a problem with tangles or SSK's when you tried this new method?

I did not have any problems with tangles or knots because my hair was really detangled before I did the twists. When I shampooed my hair after this style, I knew I was going to have to cut knots out but I did not have any. Actually I had less than what I normally have!

Sure, many times orbs are moisture or dust particles. It's really on a case by case basis determining if it may be paranormal.

I thought it could have been dust but I can see through it. It has an outer ring and a clear center.blondie wrote:DreamMerchant wrote:blondie wrote:Your hair looks lovely!
