Skin Care Regimen
I have had bad acne since 6th grade started and unfortunately, me picking with it left behind some bad scars. I got rid of my acne for good since I started birth control, and my dermatologist prescribed me Atralin (tretinoin). My skin care regimen has really helped me get rid of bad scars, dsicoloration and new pimples. Do you have one? If so, please post yours, and what products you think really helped contribute to most of your skin successes.
Morning:
Wash with Aubrey Organics Rosa Mosquite Facial Cleanser
Tone with my ACV/Green tea mixture on a cotton ball
Moisturize/Protect with Aveeno Ultra Calming daily moisturizer with spf 15
Night:
Wash with Aubrey Organics facial cleanser again
Slather on some Atralin.
Dab on some Aubrey Organics Lumessence Rejuvinating eye creme (sun exposure to eyes can cause aging or discoloration since the skin around the eyes is thin)
That's about it!

Re: Skin Care Regimen
It feels squeaky clean. It doesn't dry it out because I put more green tea than acv in my mix. It's just water with green tea leaves and a little acid
Acne
Apple Cider Vinegar is a natural cure for acne.
Age Spots
Apple Cider Vinegar contains sulfur that fights the effects of aging.
The trouble also with applying apple cider vinegar directly to the face, is that it could easily dry it out and leave you with dry skin as well as acne. Which is why I dilute mine with green tea.
Green tea has proved to be anti-bacterial that reduces inflammation, decreases hormone activity, capable of killing the potentially deadly Staphylococcus Aureus and the bacteria that cause Bacterium acne.
Green tea's antioxidants have been shown to be highly beneficial to acne prevention. These antioxidants help your body to fight against free radicals that cause damage to cells and tissues in your body. Green Tea with Honeysuckle is often known as 'Pimple Tea' in China. It also aids digestion and helps to detoxify your system when drunk after a meal and getting rid of the toxins prevent acne.

Re: Skin Care Regimen
I have been using this for a month and my breakouts have definitely stopped. I still have some scarring but I'm trying to be patient. Natural remedies sometime require a little more patience. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Morning and Night I use: Dr. Bronner's Peppermint or Baby Mild Castile Soap, and add a very small fingertip size of coconut oil. My face loves that treat [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]. Ladies please don't use too much oil, it only takes a little.

Re: Skin Care Regimen
Earlier this year I broke out very badly due to stress. I inquired about doctors within the NYC area that are experienced with ethnic skin and found Dr. Kim Nichols. She is fabulous. She knew exactly what triggered my breakouts and how to treat my skin while addressing my concerns of hyperpigmentation. My daily regimen consists of: MORNING: CVS brand, Foaming Face Wash
Cleanse and Treat
Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer w/ SPF 15
EVENING: same face wash
Tazorac (retinoid, Rx only) every other night
Glytone-glycolic acid interchanges w/ Taz.

Re: Skin Care Regimen
The two most important things that I do is exfoliate with a Beta Hydroxy Acid and wear sunblock every day. I have the skin of a teenager minus the acne.

I am really curious about prescription Rx for Brown Skin. I've always wanted to try it but, the price point is a bit high for me to experiment.

Re: Skin Care Regimen
I finally found a working regime.
Wash with Black soup (to cleanse and exfoliate) every other day
apply ACV (ph restorer) as toner after washing face
apply diluted Tea Tree oil (disinfectant) to affected areas after toner
apply small amount Honey (disinfectant, moisturizer, and helps fade dark areas) to those areas also
I do this at night. My face hasn't had a breakout in two months and my acne has cleared. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Skin Care Regimen
My face hates Benzoyl Peroxides and Salicylic Acids, so...
Wash: Avalon Organics Lavender Cleansing Gel (Whole Foods)
Sun Screen/Moisturizer: Avalon Organics Lavender SPF 18 (daily ya'll)
Occassional Acne treatment (when I flare up): Clyndamycin Phosphate Lotion (Rx from my Internist)
Exfoliation: 2-3 times a week using homemade Brown Sugar and Honey mask for 15 minutes.

Re: Skin Care Regimen
now, i barely do anything to my face...
i've eliminated soap altogether...
i just do the ocm and call it a day...
no follow up lotion/moisturizer or anything...
and my face is thanking me for it lol...
i've been way too harsh on my face in the past, always experimenting with different products...
i've concluded that for me, simpler is better
