How to get rid of Build-Up?
I've noticed that when I wash my hair, I usually have a lot of build up. I get nervous, and the co-wash method is X-ed out because I feel as if I have to use shampoo to get rid of the build-up. The products I use include Karen's Body Beautiful shampoo and Luscious Locks conditioner. With the build-up, her shampoo doesn't seem to work for me...so I grab the Organix coconut milk shampoo. For my twists, I use KBB's hair milk, but I have run out of it, so recently, I've been using Palmer's Coconut hair milk plus coconut oil and a little of KBB's hair butter for hold.
What type of shampoo/conditioner should I try? I have returned to using the apple cider vinegar rinse that my mom and grandmother used to do with my hair. I may not be doing that correctly though.

maybe you can use any of dr.bronner's liquid soap as a cleanser? a little goes a long way because you it is very concentrated. you may need to dilute. also, kiss my face has a clarifying shampoo, but i haven't tried it yet. i also hear benozonite clay is a good clarifier.

Burt's Bees grapefruit and beet and Carol's Daughter Khoret Amen shampoo work great on removing build-up for me.

Thanks, ladies. I will look into those products. I just washed my hair, and the build-up was not bad at all!!! And I know that I used a lot of product this past week.

You can try using Giovanni's Smooth As Silk Shampoo, or one of Aubrey Oranics shampoos if you want a shampoo. You could also try a baking soda treatment, that releases build up as well.
Re: How to get rid of Build-Up?
The baking soda treatment removes the remnants of anything. I used at a time I didn't have anything built up and that was not a good idea. However, I can see how it can be a great remover:

I cosign to using baking soda...Leave my hair feeling so soft and removes buildup...I also clarify with ACV (Apply Cider Vinegar)
