I'd like to add another 5 inches in length. I'm not sure how long that will take. Hopefully, about a year.

I'm thinking short term now that I'm only four months after bc. Hair touching shoulder length without being stretched. I'm trying to twist and leave alone for length. Maybe five months? Is that too hopeful? lol [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Sounds like a silly question, but I think I remember reading that each of us has a specific cut-off (for lack of a better word) in terms of length.

I would like to grow my hair to at least BSL if not longer, if my hair is able to. It's fine and breaks easily, but I've been protective styling for over six months and that has helped me to retain length. I have never had hair that long so this is an experiment. I had a semi-big chop in Feb. 2008 where I was left with about 4-5 inches of healthy hair, which now after 2 years (and a few trims here and there) is finally approaching shoulder length. I haven't trimmed since Summer of 2009 and I think that is the key for me to keep what I have.

To the bolded, I think that so long as you baby your hair and based on your particular genetics, everyone has a certain hair growth limit ("terminal length"), but you can grow it to the max with healthy hair practices.

Length wise, I'd like to reach BSL in 4-5 years. My hair grows pretty fast, so it may be sooner. I'm more into volume than length, though.

You guys are crazy lol. Waist length hair would be such a chore and annoying to me.

I would like my hair to be APL curly, which would hopefully just be MBL straight. I don't want too much hair because I get really frustrated with the hair I have now haha. My hair is just touching shoulder length curly now, so hopefully I can reach my goal in about two years.

I would like for my hair to be shoulder length unstretched. Right now, my hair touches the top of my shoulders when stretched. I have no clue how long that will take to grow my hair to the desired length though. I'm just going to take care of my hair and see what happens. I don't know if I would be able to manage my hair if it got any longer than shoulder length unstretched though. Sounds like a handful.

I only want collarbone legnth...un stretched....I'm with Karyn...long hair with 3 young kids.....IMPOSSIBLE!

I would love to have BSL hair very big and curly. I haven't really thought about how long it would take to grow it, but it seems to be doing so at a steady pace. A few friends say that I should get locs but I love my curls.

I want BSL curly! Maybe another 5 years... my length hides in my MEGA shrunken coils. Yeah, about 5 yrs should do it! That'll equate to (reaching) hip length by then, lol.

I don't have a length in mind, now that i enjoyed my really short hair, it's growing back. i was looking at old pictures and realized i haven't let my hair grow past collarbone length in a long while, i let it grow to armpit length back in 2008, but i cut it back to shoulder length, That's my favorite length to have it's not too long and not too short. I love to cut my hair my hair hasn't touched my waist since 2003. i guess i will see if i can leave the scissors alone, but long thick hair is a pain so that's probably why i like shoulder length so much,lol

I was just watching some youtube videos of sera2544 and all I really doubt that I'd have the time to detangke and twist and so on.. But I'd still like to see how long my hair can be

My desired length after transitioning will be waistlength stretched....then after that i'm only going to do regular trims and let it grow as long as it wants [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .


Its gonna take me about 2-3 years of transitioning to get there though

I'd like classic to thigh length hair but that may not be possible for me. So, I have no set time period; just whenever and if I make it, lol.
