Waiting Patiently Empty Waiting Patiently

Post by Ebbz 6th June 2010, 5:58 pm

I am almost 2 months into my transition and I am patiently waiting on my curl pattern/natural texture to clearly reveal itself.

My question : When did you begin to clearly see your coils/curls/kinks?

I will be 10 months post relaxer next week, and I still have no clue what my curl pattern/natural texture is. I have put off determining what it is until all my relaxed ends have been snipped away.

The hair type isn't something that I really worry about too much. I guess what I'm asking is when did you begin to be able to clearly see the difference between your relaxed hair and your natural hair? I'm sorry if I wasn't clear with what i was asking the first time. lol

I'm a little over four months in, and I was able to see the difference between the relaxed and natural portion at about six weeks, but I didn't see any actual curls/coils until recently, so I'd say between 3 and 4 months

I first noticed a curl around month 7/8, I remember being all excited about it. LOL

Ok...now I get what you were asking. I guess it was around month 6 or 7 that when I started noticing some coils.

I am almost 5 months post relaxer with no relax ends and to be honest I barely see curls. I can feel them but can see them a little.

I'm at 13 weeks and I feel a lot of little lovely coils in my hair, especially on the back where it's mainly natural. The back had broken off greatly. I have some in the sides but very few in the front.

I guess it varies from person to person, and maybe by hair type as well. I have a very small section in the front that curled up long before the rest of my hair did (it has a looser curl than most of the rest of my hair) and a few sections are natural but have almost no definition. So, I know it sucks but I guess we all just have to wait

Wow! i said i would never BC but seeing you ladies' responses is making me wonder if i'll change my mind soon! i didn't realize that it takes so long for your natural texture to show up :-( ... but i've had short hair before and i hated it on me so i guess i'll just have to be patient and enjoy the journey!
