I am getting my bathroom remodeled, soooo what do I do about using henna in a white tub and shower? My husband said I will have to go to a hotel to do it lol!Right now it doesnt matter because my tub and shower are old. I still cleaned it well after I used the henna and it cleaned up pretty well but with a brand new tub will I ruin it? I dont think henna stains too bad if you clean it up right away. What do you ladies do to keep your tub and shower clean and not stained with henna?

I don't find that henna stains permanently but if you wanted to be extra careful I would put some gladwrap (I think you call it saranwrap?) on the bathroom units before application. With the tubs I would just wipe as soon as you can or keep some wet old face cloths nearby for immediate wiping of any big gloops.

I put some old towels on the floor underneath me. I've got better with it over time and don't splatter around quite so much any more.

@R2D2 I was thinking that the henna shouldnt stain if i clean it right away! I was just worried about the tub turning orange lol!Oh I forgot about the fixtures ,the saran wrap is a good idea! I will just have to be careful, thanks for responding!

My tub or sink did not stain but I did drop some on the tile floor and it stained it. 2 days later, I put some baking soda on the spot (baking soda is a natural abrasive) and gave it a little scrub and it came off.

I agree with the putting the towels on the floor (and I don't splatter as much as I used to either Smile ). I think it takes practice. But I also use henna (after the dye has released) mixed in conditioner a lot of the time too. So, that helps.

I also have white walls in the bathroom. If you wash out your henna in the shower with the warmest water you can stand, you would be fine. I also have a small bowl in the shower that I add water to and throw on the walls, etc. as I am washing out my henna. I hennaed on Friday night. I made sure to tape newspaper to my walls, but I am getting good at this where the only bit of henna landed on the bathroom floor, which was covered with newspaper also. When I washed out my henna on Saturday morning, after leaving it on for 8 hours overnight, it didn't leave a stain in the bathroom on the new shower curtain or the walls. Just make sure you use a bowl or small bucket nearby to continuously wash off the walls as the henna accumulates. You could also spread towels on the floor or newspaper like I did when I entered the bathroom. I set up my bathroom the night before leaving the shampoo, conditioners, etc. out so I don't bend over and drip around the floors. My henna does not run too much since I put on saran wrap, 1 clear plastic cap, 1 gold/silver deep conditioning cap, and layer my pillow with a heavy duty towel just in case it leaks out the caps.
