TMS **Update: I got coils instead of twist...will post pics this weekend**

I heard that! So today is not so bad but I want nice weather for the weekend!!! And I would LOVE to go to Cuba for a jazz fest! ::Off to daydream about Havana::

I am a Qhemet fan!! I stray away to try a few products here and there, but when you see me in a puff I achieve that look with my Qhemet products!!

I am very heavy handed with products, so once I apply my Qhemet I don't have to add anything for a week. I will spray my spritz (water, oil, conditioner) if I see my edges are looking dry or add a little castor oil mixture that I made up for Tia's grow long challenge and that's it!!!

Qhemet is one of my HG products. I can't live my life as a natural without it!!

I love your puffs. I'm glad to know that you achieved your look by using Qhemet. I like the fact that you don't have to use their products everyday. Like you, I don't think I will ever be without my Qhemet especially the Karkady Tea Mist (I'm addicted).

I'll have to wait on ordering Qhemets til June but I think I'll be fine until then. Right now I am on the hunt for a new cowash & leave-in conditioner combo. Any suggestions? I may try YTC but I am still trying to get some SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus products. The Target's near me (Fremont & Bay Fair) never seem to have all of the products in stock so I may have to order online (blurg). Are you hitting up the Malcolm X Jazz Fest?

@ Femme - Happy Friday! Don't order the SheaMoisture Products. I have the whole line and it's not working for my hair. YTC is all that people have been raving about. I picked up two bottles for $3.99 a piece from Ross. When and where is the Malcolm X Jazz Fest?

Which SheaMoisture products did you get? I have the Reconstructing Conditioner and I really like it. It's leave-in/rinse out and I use it as a leave-in. I really want to try the Coconut and Hibiscus. If you have some of that and you would like to get rid of it holla atacha girl!!

Hey TMS. Just stopping by to say hi. Qhemet worked pretty good on
my hair this week. Yesterday I wet my hair with water and use the OHHB & AOHC and my hair was soft. Have you ever added any oil into the mix, like after you wet you hair or after applying the AOHC? I like a little sheen so that's why I ask.

I'm planning to twist this weekend. I'll be scouring CN.com and naturallycurly.com to see what other curlies have used that work best for twisting. Thanks again for all the great tips!

Hey Dva! I don't add anything else. If I want a little more sheen, I will use more of the OHHB.

I've read that other curlies use the AOHC to twist and the OHHB to seal. HTH

yea dva i was gonna say w/qhemet u dont have to add anything...nada...nothing! my hair has been moisturized ALL WEEK!! my 30 day challenge for qhemet might as well be over cuz i already KNOW it works for my hair. but im gonna keep it goin to alternate between the burdock n amla creams!

TMS; where are ur pics ur such a tease!! now how often did u try the shea moisture before you decided to trash em? at least 3 times? i always gotta try at least 3 times before i confirm a yay or nay! and u did not need 2 bottles of ytc

Nubie - I'm going to post some pics tomorrow after I do my first henna treatment - I'm using CN's method. I tried the sheamoisture two times and each time my hair was hard/dry. I think it's the protein. I may revisit sheamoisture later on, but for now, I need to clean out my refrigerator. LOL In the future, I'll use the 3 times rule. How could I pass up the YTC for 3.99?! The bottles are big too! Shoot, I'm on the hunt for more. I was able to run my fingers through my hair with ease.

I am a true believer of henna!

On Saturday, I applied henna and slept with it overnight. Sunday, I rinsed the henna from my hair with Suave Coconut conditioner and then mixed 2/3 indigo with 1/3 amla and let it sit on my hair for two hours. After I rinsed out the indigo mix, I DC’d for several hours.

My curls are definitely stretched to the point where I am going to attempt to twist my twa over the Memorial weekend! If all goes well, I will post pics.

Your hair looks good. What does the Indigo and Amla do when used together is it for darkening?

3 bags of green tea (let steep in water)

After the water has cooled, I slowly mixed into the henna to a mashed potato consistency.

Yes, it does darken. I already have dark hair, but did not want it to be jet black. The amla helped lessen the darkness.

Girl that look good. My next task is henna, I colored my hair about a month ago and I wish I would have used henna instead.

Hey TMS! I just did a henna treatment on my hair last Thursday. My hair has experienced reduced frizz and a nice gloss every since. It's my second time. I have considered adding amla in the future. You make me want to try it. Your hair is looking great.

I can't freakin BELIEVE you got YTC for 3.99. I paid nearly twice that for cucumbers just last week! No Ross stores here!

I love the sheamoisture line myself but I can't use it all the time I suspect. I have been alternating between that and the CURLS line which I also love. It may very well be the protein...
