Re: 9 Months Post Relaxer
May 1st will mark my 9th month post relaxer. I have a ton of new growth and was getting sick of the two textures, so I watched a ton of you tube videos and did my on senegalese twists and they have been in for about a month or so, but I want to take them out before my bday which is May 9th(mothers day). Depending on what my hair looks like I might cut off my relaxed ends, or not. I think my BC will be something spontaneous and not planned because if I plan it I know I will chicken out. As soon as I take these out I will post some pictures and Ill try to get some of my twists also...

Yay 9 months for me!!!!! My bday is next Sunday and I think I might cut a lot. I have a lot of natural hair that I'm loving, so you never know. I don't want to plan it I just want it to happen spontaneously

I'm 9 months post and things are going well. I just wish my hair would grow a little bit faster. Well, I have at least 9 months to go!
Re: 9 Months Post Relaxer
So today makes 9 months for me!! YAY!! I honestly don't know if I'll BC on my 1 year or 18 months...??? I guess I'll listen to my hair and do it when she feels ready. I can honestly say that I am happy that I made the decision to transition b/c I have not once thought about hitting that beauty supply store for a perm. I have learned so much about my hair... hair period. HAPPY TRANSITIONING to all!!

I feel like I should have more growth but maybe I do in other areas. This is the hair that was left out in my sew in.
I'm proud of the curls I do have though. : )

Re: 9 Months Post Relaxer
Does anyone else get single strand knots? I have been noticing that the strands that shed have have knots, so now I am wondering if I have these knots all over. That can not be good. I am already fighting breakage from the line of transition, I don't need single strand knots causing breakage too! Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?

Re: 9 Months Post Relaxer
I reached my 9months post relaxer on Sept 24th
I'm having trouble finding cute styles that I can fix quick in the morning before my 9am classes (eeek)
but for now buns are my (boring) staple styles
@JMP82 We're in the same boat! I've been having more single strand knots in my shed hairs too and I have no idea how I got them or what to do about them

Single Strand Knots will now become your BFF! They never go away! Work on your detangle technique and start washing/cowashing in braids like on www.growafrohairlong.com That's is the only way I reduce the # of ssk I have.
Oh and I have the itchies lately,

Re: 9 Months Post Relaxer
@JMP82.... OMG I have the same issue!!! I cut a few yesterday!!! They are sooooo annoying!!!
I know how I get so many... I am very low maintenence (nice way of saying lazy) and I do not wash/cowash regularly so I don't detangle often and I play in my hair while its tangled !!!
U know how u know something is not good for u but u continue doing it... SHAME!!! Im working on it though...

@Eager Curler I feel you on the low maintenance, I rock a bun every day and have gone 2 weeks with out co-washing/detangling. Perhaps that is why if get the SSK too lol

Re: 9 Months Post Relaxer
I have not posted because i backsled and put a kiddie texturizer in my hair. i feel so bad, but I was getting lazy detangling my 4c hair. Now I have to start all over again. keep me in your prayers. here is a pic, I don't like how my hair feels and looks, too straight in the front. but oh well [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
