I thought my pipes were rusty!
I recently hennaed my hair for the 3rd time. Up to several weeks after each time it seems like the henna is still rinsing out of my hair. I have never heard anyone say anything about it washing off? Is this supposed to happen? My scalp is clean and not at all itchy. I also rinsed and rinsed and rinsed like a maniac to make sure that all of the henna was out. I thought the henna was permanent and that you grew it out. Is this normal? If not, then what's happening?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Did you use anything to rinse or just plain water.
I use conditioner like I was co-washing to rinse.

OH WOW! I thought I was the only one this happened to!
I used Jamila 09 Henna for hair and rinsed and co-washed until the water was clear. Yet a week later when I washed my hair I was still seein that yellow-ish dye rinse out of my hair. Luckily I washed like 4 times with DevaCare Low Poo and a week after that, when I washed again, there was no henna dye comin out.
I was told you can only co-wash after a henna treatment, but I will try washing with DC Low poo a few times to make sure it all comes out. So I would suggest using a shampoo or no poo to get all the henna out. And keep washing!

The woman at the Asian market told me to wash it out with Nyle shampoo to get the henna out. She said that you have to use herbal shampoos when you use things such as henna or whatever.
