I have a question ive been pondering..ok so its this guy trying to court me (in the words of

my grandma [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] )..and of course i always stalk websites such as these to look at all the

beautiful hair and info! Ok so one day i was looking at a pic of a fab, bodacious mane

and he said "Eww look at all that hair...I dont like like all that hair" WTF?? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I was like ok...

I have natural hair so what u saying? He said "It just hasnt grown on me" [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] (all the while

with his hand in my hair twirling my curls)...he also said he "doesnt like makeup" which is

my forte but always in my face! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Now its not what he "doesnt like" that gets me..its the

fact that he seems mesmerized by what he doesnt like! Esp the hair! lmao! Anyone had

Wow, that's pretty ridiculous...I would not let that man put his hand in my hair while insulting it at the same time. Maybe that's just me, but I'm very sensitive about my hair, and when people make comments like that it's like "Okay, you don't like it, I didn't go natural for you sooo..."

But yea, talk about mixed messages xD.

Perhaps it is the balance of your hair and makeup. It is just right to him.

My husband does not like me wearing makeup. (I rarely wear makeup because of adult acne.) When I wear neutral colors, he is in awe how I look LOL.

If my hair is bigger than life, he does not like it as much as when it is pulled back and away from my face.

I would not take it as an insult. He simply does not like the hair he saw but likes yours same as with your makeup.

I agree with Chrs. If he makes another comment that you are like WTF about then I would just pause for the cause right then and ask him to clarify what he means. Was he courting you before you were natural?

guys are clueless. lol.

but really, many men do have more trouble expressing their thoughts & feelings as accurately as some women do. i was browsing pics and showed my bf of a picture of this lady with wavy (2c?) hair in a ponytail that fell below her waist (while wearing a high ponytail mind you!) Anyways, i asked him what he thought &&& he said that it "looked nappy"

i'm thinking ==> WHAT?!?

then i asked him about my hair and showed him some other bigger afros online (some of my fav) & he says: "that's cool, their hair is curly"

when it comes down to it...he said nappy but that's obviously not what he meant...(still trying to figure out what he meant actually....) i'm not necessarily offended by the word nappy, but...her hair was no where near it! smh.

Okay…so yesterday I was experiencing major HIH syndrome. It was like my hands, well my right hand, could not stay out of my hair. My strands felt like chenille OMGoodness. Hubby comes home from work, and I tell him I cannot stop touching my hair. He playfully slaps my hand down when I begin to touch my hair. I then tell him…this is where it gets interesting…babe feel my hair, isn’t it soft! His response, it feels like yarn. Hmmm, I think, is yarn soft to him so instead of keeping it to myself I ask. He tells me he is a man and doesn’t get into all the details. Huh?!? You mentioned it felt like yarn. Why can’t you answer whether or not you think yarn is soft. I asked a simply question is my hair soft.

Interesting to say the least, btw I never did get a yes or no answer to my question, and he did not clarify my question to him.

So I finally came out and asked him what he was talking about and if he had a problem with my hair and makeup...He replied "I mean no...I know the hair is just a phase"...woaahhhh wtf!

I said "oh no sir it isnt and if u have a problem u can get gone"

He says "Amanda (my real name) I dont know if it is or isnt but its ur own personal style and I like it. I dont gravitate towards girl with natural hair...but I think the hair and eyes are mesmerizing"

In his defense, black women are known for changing hairstyles every other week. Not sure how long you two have been "courting", but maybe he wasn't aware that this was a commitment.
