Hello ladies!
I'm new to the forum. Just wanted to start off by telling a little bit about myself. I'm eighteen years old in college and I have been natural since I was 7. I'm currently trying to get my hair on a healthy route, since over straightening it due to insecurities [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I've been on this website a couple times and it's really helped been helping me to start embracing my natural hair and loving it. Being in college there aren't many girls who are natural and sometimes I give in and straighten, but I'm trying to embrace and love my natural hair and hopefully it'll be nice and grow too [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Welcome Nessa!!! I'm sure your natural hair is beautiful. Hope to see pictures soon! I feel you on the whole not very many natural girls in college. Not only am I the only black person in my classes but when I walk around campus all of the other girls have the long flowing weave (that looks a mess half the time). Keep your head up though, straightening every now and then is completely fine, but don't do it because you're giving in. Like I said, your natural curls are probably beautiful! Just embrace it!!

Your hair is beautiful! I happy that you are taking pride in your natural hair. I am new to this forum too! I have been transitioning from natural hair since Dec 2008 and have been wearing weaves, micros, and kinky twists! I am so ready to BC like NOW but I got tree braids in now ARGHH! I am also in college and I starting to notice more girls are natural and transitioning. I LOVES IT! I get so excited over natural hair lol. Good luck on your healthy hair journey!
