Just read what your son said and that made me smile. My son is 8 and while I think he notices natural hair now, I straightened my hair a few weeks ago and he kept rubbing it. I guess admiring straight hair is engrained in kids at an early age. Your headband from Sunday was pretty and springy!

Unfortunately, the society we live in can influence our children no matter what we do. Between the music videos, commercials,etc, sometimes it's just plain hard to compete. But I figure, my sons respect and love me so hopefully they will appreciate and see the beauty in natural curls better.(if that makes sense)

GOOD AFTERNOON CURLIES:

I woke up this morning hit the gym for cycling at 5am. Then hit the showers. Cowashed my hair with Suave coconut then Giovanni smooth n shine condish for a wash n go. Then applied KCC. Put on a headband and was out the door. LOVE IT!!!!

I plan to do a treatment tonight. I need to do henna. But I don't have enough time so I will do Amla/Brahmi powder instead. Then get twisted again as per the challenge.

IDK...but with all you did to get to this point...i.e transition for a year, keeping a journal, taking very good care of both textures and learning about all things natural; it just seems your hair is destine for greatness!!

Your wash n go looks great! My wash n go's never seem to come out like I want them too. Someone gifted me with some kinky curly custard and I tried it Sunday, but it made my hair hard. Are you using anything else with it?

THANKS Kt. I get most of my earrings from two dollar jewelry. It's an online store where everything is 2 dollars...... The headbands I get from Walgreens. I always seem to walk into a great sale there....

Thank you Serenity. I usually use Giovanni smooth condish under mine. Today I use a little of that in the front and crown only because those areas dry up quickly. Then in the shower I shake my head. Then I used QB hydrating balm then KCC, a little of both goes a long way, in a scrunching method. I only use a fingertip full of each.

I HAVE A NAME FOR MY HAIR AND I WOULD LIKE TO THANK KNH FOR HER CONTRIBUTION IN THIS EFFORT .
I BELIEVE HER SUGGESTION AND REASON BEHIND HER SUGGESTION IS FITTING TO MY FRO AND THEREFORE I DECLARE THIS DAY MY HAIR NAME TO BE..................DESTINY .
Her reasoning is since I have had a successful transition for 1 yr, learning about the 2 textures and blending it so well with diff styles, kept and continue to keep a journal , learned all there is to learn about natural hair, and continue to give my hair great TLC. It is bound for a destiny of greatness. I LOVE THAT. So Destiny it is .

I mixed the henna last night and will apply later. I was looking at Destiny last night and she has grown 1 inch and the grays are showing. So I need to henna. I haven't hennaed in about 2 months so it's time. Then I will twist for the challenge. My schedule rotates so you will not see me in twists on the normal M-F and out on SAT and SUN.
For the wash n go, I soaked my hair in the shower, applied a little Giovanni smooth condish to the crown and front because it tends to dry out quickly. Then I shook my head. (It felt good )
Then I came out of the shower and applied, in a scrunch method, a fingertip full of QB Hydrating Balm and then a fingertip full of KCC (alot goes a long way for these).

Destiny looks like royalty today with her accessories.

One question, have you found that your hair is growing by leaps and bounds? I feel like my hair has grown like crazy since I cut it a month and a half ago.
