How long you've been natural: Always, but I have been a blonde (think Adrienne Bailon) for like 13 years, so my big chop was to cut off my remaining highlights!! So now my hair is shorter than usual -- it is bsl, but I'm used to it being much longer -- and it's healthier than it has been in years. I cut some funky bangs into it that I am now growing out, so it's not even, which I can't stand!!
Fav products: I'm a bit of a product junky, but very picky. I basically use all natural mixtress lines and Aubreys. My hair looks like jheri curl if I use/overuse any heavy products. I'm on a low-poo regime, but when I wash I use...
shampoo bars: Chagrin Valley or Anita Grant
shampoo: KBB, Aubreys, or Qhemet's tea tree (rarely). I'm going to try Oyin's Head to Toe Honeywash. If I need to clarify I add baking soda to suds or do an ACV rinse. Bentonite Clay here and there (a fave in natural realms).
Conditioners from the same lines, plus Oyin's Honey Hemp.
If I bun I'll put more moisture (KBB Hair Milk, Nectar, or Super Silky -- only Super Silky if I'm doing a bun-out); if it's wash and go it depends. Sometimes all I use is a hold -- either KCCC or Aubrey's B-5, but not too much or I can look jheri curl-ish. Sometimes I use a DAB of Super Silky first. Once my hair is all even I won't even need this much.
I am not mixed, all black, but my hair does get confused. Sometimes it acts like it wants oils, but cannot take them. I am constantly experimenting...
