The more I henna, the better the results.
Has anyone else noticed that their results are getting better after each henna treatment? I have only done three treatments and the results are getting better and better. The first treatment I did on dry hair and the henna paste was kinda dry (I used lemon juice). I let the paste sit until it was ready and left it on for 4 or 5 hours. My hair turned out very dry and I had to DC like crazy to restore it. The second treatment I did on wet hair with a thinner paste like mashed potatoes and put it on as soon as I mixed it and left it on for 4 hours. It turned out better. This time I henna'ed on wet hair with water and almond tea, put it on as soon as I mixed it and left it on for 14 hours. This third treatment was like a yogurt consistency and I loved it. When I washed it out the next morning, my hair was rejoicing with shine and control.
So I was wondering if it was the third henna treatment or the way I put it on. All I know is that I am going to keep doing the henna. My hair is loving it!

I can't tell either. The treatments seem to get better. I think it's a combination...henna is supposed to work better the more you use it, but we also learn how to use it better the more we use it...I have henna in my hair as I write this!

I think it's a combination of both the cumulative effect of henna on the hair and the user refining their techniques over time in a way that suits their hair best.
The biggest difference I noticed was on my 4th application. But on that occasion I used a better quality henna for the first time and mixed it with coconut milk instead of the mixes I used previously. The colour was richer and my shedding stopped in its tracks (well to minimal levels!).

You both are so correct. I am happy that I kept trying it and did not give up on the good ol' henna! I will have to try that coconut milk recipe. My hair thrived with the henna and plain almond tea. My shedding is gone and I have a deep shine. I would henna once a week if I could but once a month is good for now.

I definitely agree that it gets better each time! I've been henna'ing since November, so a total of 3 times so far! Im doing my 4th treatment again on Thursday! My hair totally rocks after I henna! Im henna'ing once a month, but really want to step it up and do it twice a month...just so it can get better and better, and plus I reeeeally want my hair to get thicker from it and grow! I love this stuff! I think in March, Im definitely going to start trying to do it twice a month...especially since March is a longer month.
