missmoriahiscurly
I am finally joining in on the fun with this butters-n-bars challenge to really just track my progress and see what I am doing with my hair on a day to day. I know I need to come up with a set regimen so that I can reach maximum growth because these first five months have really gotten me nowhere. So I just wanted to post my first entry and say HELLO to everyone. Wish me luck!!!

Re: missmoriahiscurly
Thanks everyone for all the welcomes! YOU GUYS ARE GREAT! So Last night I did a little trim on my TWA and I think that it helped with some of the frizz. I did it so I could kinda have somewhat of a fresh start. I shampooed and conditioned using Suave Naturals. After I rinsed I put some suave naturals coconut conditioner in my hair and some coconut oil to seal in the moisture. This morning my hair was pretty soft all I did was massage my scalp a little to get the curls up from being slept on last night and then spritzed it with some water and put a little of the wild growth oil on it and thats it. Im trying not to do too much with my hair because I feel that the previous over manipulation during the first five months has caused my growth to slow down tremendously. So my new regimen will consist of Co-wash once a week leave in some conditioner and seal. Then every two weeks I will shampoo. If I don't like how my hair is looking during the week I'll just throw a hat on instead of washing again. Soooo thats all I have for now.

Re: missmoriahiscurly
Is it okay to put Suave Naturals Coconut conditioner in morning and night everyday as a leave in and seal with coconut oil or is that doing too much?
@traveljunkie08: I just responded on there too. lol

I've never used Suave's products but I dont think it is doing too much. I'm not sure how often you shampoo/cowash but the only thing I could possible see happening it product buildup. If it is working for you, I say continue to do it. Have you thought about making a homemade leave in/spritz? You could use the same conditioner, a little olive oil and water in a spray bottle and spritz your hair with it.

I know what you mean....I was shampooing my hair everyday when I did my big chop...I went to a natural hair stylist and she told me that was waaaay too much!!! She told me not to shampoo again until 2012
Anyway....sounds like you are on your way to recovery. I use Suave conditioner. I like it...but I feel now I need something a little heavier for my co-washes, and like you I'm trying to only co-wash once a week, and I haven't shampooed in 2 week..(I think) Trying to make it 3 weeks or if I feel that I have product build-up.
Wishing you a Happy Valentine Day!!!!

@Lynnieluve: I think that is a great idea. I never thought about that. I always feel like i need to rub something through. And if I did make a spritz would i still need to seal with coconut oil??? Im so confused.
@KinkyNappyHappy: I sure hope I am on my way. I cut down on the manipulation and I'm just sticking to my so called "regimen" hopefully this does me good. I do have a question for you....What would product build up be like if I had it? I don't know if that is a stupid question but I don't know if I have ever experienced product buildup.

If you use olive oil in your mix, you probably wont need to seal. Olive oil is heavier than coconut oil so you wouldnt want to be greasy.
As for the product buildup, my strands start to feel coated and after I co wash my scalp has a white film on it....I hope that makes since. Since you are shampooing every two weeks, you may not experience build up.

So I could put water, my conditioner, and olive oil in a spray bottle and just do that?

Yep.....try it for a few days. After that, if you think you need to seal too, then do it. Remember, trial and error.

Re: missmoriahiscurly
@Lynnieluve, Thanks chica I actually did make a little sprtiz but I still put the coconut oil in. I think I'm going to throw it out and just use the olive oil like you said.
