When I asked my mom, she said that I was in the 4th grade, so that is around 9 or 10 years old.

I was about 11 yrs old. My cousin decided to give me one because I was tender headed and my hair was too much for her to deal with. She never asked my mother, who didn't seem to be upset afterward. She couldn't stand doing my hair either.

All i remember is I was in third grade and I told my mama I wanted a Jheri Curl and she got me a relaxer!! I was soooo mad LOL...I only wanted a Jheri Curl cuz my mama and daddy had one...hahaha

I got my first relaxer at 11 years old. Mom says I was 12 but I remember having one in 6th grade when I was 11. LOL!
