Natural Hair Gel Empty Natural Hair Gel

Post by bostoba 20th January 2010, 2:12 am

Hi Everyone

Whenever I do my 2 strand twists, they don't look very neat because I need some gel to help with the frizzies. I've read online that you can use 1 cuo water with 1 tsp-1 tbsp gelatin, is this bad for our hair? Any other recommendations?

Much Thanks :-)

A few products I have used with success are Joie's MyGel, homemade flaxseed gel and Afroveda's pur whipped gelly. Another key is ensuring you moisturize your hair well.

I don't know about the gelatin mix you spoke about, but the gel I like is Curl Junkie's Aloe Fix. I also tried the Hairveda Whipped Gelly but I have 4b hair type...so it didn't work well for me. However, my cousin (who is a type 3) really likes it.

I've tried the gelatin and water. It leaves flaky build up on the hair.
I now use Giovanni LA Natural Hair Gel. Works great.

I use Herbal Essences Set Me Up Gel and it does a great job. I also add a little water to prevent little white flakes. I've also used IC Fantasia Olive Oil Styling Gel and it works good too.
