Well, I am washing my hair now. I joined the "Use your Stash" challenge and decided to revisit some items today. I have decided that the Komaza care items are too thin for my THICK hair. I will be giving those away to a newly natural sista for her to try. She has thinner hair.

Also I realized that Cream of Nature shampoo has SLS in it, so I thew it way. My Paul Mitchell Color Care Conditioner has too much protein in it and made my hair hard ( I just had a protein treatement for Christmas so I didn't need anymore). I threw that away too.

OK, today I am having a good hair day. Last night I did a braid and curl. I left some of the ends loose and rolled with a perm rod roller. This was my first time doing a BNC like that. I finally got those curly ends I see on everyone else.

I will post pictures this evening.

Thanks Reese!

Last night I just pinned curled it. I really haven't looked at it this morning, LOL. We'll see if I pin curl or rebraid tonight.

I stopped my Sally's last night and picked up some supplies (NOT PRODUCTS). They have hair clips on sale and I needed a new satin bonnet. I need a new scarf too but I didn't see the one I was looking for.

Pinkrage - do you use a setting lotion to roll your ends? My hair is a lot shorter than yours, but I was thinking of trying a roller-set for my birthday later this month.

BTW - your hair is ADORABLE!

You have the braidout that I want. I recently tried it and it was crazy flat. I might try again, You have inspired me. BTW I really liked your BKO, I couldn't see the frizz (pic angles can sometimes hide things ) but I thought it was adorable!

Day 3 hair is still holding up. It looks good but it's a lot bigger today. Oh well, that is just part of being natural. I put it up in a pineaapple last night and pin curled the ends.

I think tonight I am going to rebraid it. I will probably do fewer braids. I think I am going to put shea butter on the ends tonight since I just picked some up at the store.

Day 4 hair and it looks fine to me. I rebraided last night. I actually flat braided last night (for the first time) and put about 6 rows in. The front braids definitely look WAAAYY better than the back braids.

Additionally, my braids look underhanded. I don't know how I did that. I was worried that the curls wouldn't be defined because of that but it didn't have any effect on them. I need to buy a mannequin. I need to practice on something other than my head because my hands got tired.

I have a wig. Maybe I can just hold that down and practice some. We'll see!

I told Hubby I wanted to get a mannequin so I can practice too. It will be a good investment for my side hustle...styling natural hair for the hair challenged.

@Pinkrage: Are you going to try 3 strand twists? I've been wanting to try them for a while, but never did more than two because it required way too much concentration.

@Traveljunkie- I want to try the 3 strand but I have to practice and get the swing of it. It can't be too hard...it' just a twist.

@Lynn- go ahead with your side hustle. I will be happy to just style my hair, LOL. A mannequin will also help me practice styles for my little one. She doesn't have enough hair for me to play in now. When I start doing her hair i want to know what I am doing. She is too active for me to practice on her and then have to start over, LOL!
