Re: Shea Butter
Hello Ladies!!! I went to butters-n-bars and they are still more that this site: http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm/product/23_105/unrefined-african-shea-butter.cfm
This is where I purchase my shea butter in bulk and it's the BEST quality, it comes from a conflict free village in Africa and I had a co-worker that introduced me to this site! Check it out you can get 25lbs for 125 compared to 170 from butters-n-bars!
I hope you like it!!!

Re: Shea Butter
I usually purchase my shea butter at a store in town, but I definitely want to try butters-n-bars.
Re: Shea Butter
besides butter-n-bars, sistasplace is a great resource, when they actually have AfrikanRepublic's brand in stock.
Re: Shea Butter
@koils- I get mine from them too and they ship to APOs!! Love them and am going to order some more to make body butters!

Re: Shea Butter
I just made a whipped shea butter mixture for my hair and it came out great. I used:
5oz. of shea butter(melted just a little in boiling hot water)
4 or 5 tbs coconut oil
1tbs olive oil
1tbs almond oil
1 tbs honey(you can leave this out if you'd like. I thought I'd give it a try to see if it did anything as far as taking moisture from my hair)
20 drops tea tree oil
I whipped everything but the tea tree oil together for 10 minutes. After it was the whipped consistency that I wanted I added the tea tree oil and whipped it for another minute. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Looks almost like my stuff [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] honey is great for holding moisture and it's a natural preservative!!! Looks great!

Re: Shea Butter
sheabutterhut.com is also another place to purchase shea butter. I think it's $8 for 1lb. and it's really soft and usually it melts when I emulsify it between my fingers. I love love love it. I just got 1 lb. this summer in like June/July and I only have about 1/3 of it left
