First timer... need advice
okay so I ordered 200g of Yemeni and 50g of Hibiscus last night from Henna Sooq, I am looking to have my color similar to auburn like Faith Evans, so hopefully I got the right powders, I do not want burgundy at all. I do realize I'm gonna have to do several applications. I just need some advice on the application process. Like things I need, release time and just some basic things. okay thanks

Hi,
Have you looked here?
http://www.curlynikki.com/2008/12/henna-pictorial.html
It goes over the basics.
If your hair is pretty dark--a dark brown or a black, you may not be able to get your hair an auburn color. If you're just interested in the color, and less interested in the conditioning benefits, you may consider going with a professional dye job instead.
I've been henna-ing for a couple months, but maybe someone more knowledgable will step in

I am so confused when it comes to ordering this henna from mehandi.com. I am seeking mainly the conditioning benefits but I would love the dark black color also. Additionally how do I know to order jamilia 2009 or 2008?

Agore07 - I would not encourage using the hibiscus. I would think another tea (black, green, chamomile) because hibiscus is more of a purple leaning itself towards the burgundy range and you mentioned that is not what you are wanting. I didn't know what Faith Evan's hair looked like, so I looked at a YT video and , I would advise you to consult with a henna specialist because I couldn't t imagine you achieving your desired color using henna starting with dark hair, even after several applications. But good luck with your efforts.

Faith, a person desiring the conditioning benefits would probably be best served either 1) doing a full henna treatment without allowing the dye to release 2) doing a henna gloss or 3) doing a cassia treatment.
A "dark black" color is achieved by using indigo, not henna. Since you have the mehandi site, you probably saw the "henna for hair" section that is full of information. Also, visit the henna sooq website. She has lots of info and you can contact her if you have questions. Khadija is the owner and very responsive to phone calls and emails.
