Coconut Milk?
So we have all tried coconut oil but I was just pondering who has tried coconut milk? I read a long time ago that Indian women swear by it and I have been thinking about adding it to my regimen.
What do you know of coconut milk; from your or someone you knows experiences?

Re: Coconut Milk?
I just D/C'd today using a mixture of 1/2 can of coconut milk and my fav conditioner HH Totally twisted, following a henna treatment. I've used this before and had great results. My curls (4a/4b) sucked up all the nutrients from the milk and conditioner and were left soft and shiny. I left it on for about 30 minutes using my Microheat Cap.
My only caution is to be careful of how you mix the conditioner and the milk. Make sure it's nice and thick like yogurt or else you'll be dripping all over the place.
A friend of mine (who is a natural curly) likes to use a mix of 1 ripe avacado, 1/2 can of coconut milk with a tablespoon of olive oil. She leaves her mix on for 30 minutes with heat. She swears by it. Hope this helps.

Both these ladies posted their recipes for coconut milk and jamaicacurl showed her results. I plan to try it again to see if I notice any difference to my hair's overall health and/or look.

Re: Coconut Milk?
I always use it in my overnight deep conditioners. I also use Curls nd My Honey Child, who use it in many of their products. In my DCs, it gives me a smoother look.

Re: Coconut Milk?
I actually did an Avacado, 1/2 can of coconut milk, a "glob" of honey and about 6-8 drops of Sweet Almond Oil as a deep conditioner today for the first time and I LOVED IT!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I agree with KinkyShea's friend that it has to be thick enough b/c mine was dripping and running down my neck!!! lol After I applied it I wrapped my hair in Saran wrap and placed a warm towel around my head. I am going to invest in a Microheat Cap!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
However it did leave my hair sooo soft and shiny, so this will be something I include in my hair routine on a monthly basis. I actually found this website that lists a lot of home-made recipes.

Re: Coconut Milk?
I include a bit of a really thick conditioner, just so it won't run. Aubrey's Organics is super thick so I usually use the Honeysuckle Rose.
I put on a plastic cap and turban and call it a day. I don't use heat....I get a better result if I leave it overnight. One time I got really lazy and just added more of my concoction at night for 2 more nights. But when I rinsed it out (with cold water) my hair was amazing!

Re: Coconut Milk?
I have also read that warming the milk for a couple of minutes will help it thicken.
