Hair Frustration

So frustrated with my hair today. I woke up early this morning to try shingling my wet hair with IC gel. Nope my hair wasn't having it. So I jump in the shower to wash the gel out. I then decided to use Long Aid curl activator gel in the shower to shingle, my hair loved it but when I got out of the shower my hair was white. Ugh! The texture was on point but the cloud ruined everything. I have this problem a lot with different products, how do you avoid this from happening? Am I using too much product?

I do this too but once it dries, it dries clear. Not really sure about the amount that I am using.

Are you using a leave/moisturizer before you shingle? You may need to experiement to see which products work best with your gel, so they don't leave white residue. I have great results with Eco styler, it doesn't leave any white residue.

Ive experienced the white cloud after using a gel on top of hair that has just had any kind of oil applied to it. I don't shingle and really don't know what that is but trying cut back on any oil use if you are using that. lol I don't know how helpful that was.

Thanks for all the tips, I will try it again (on the weekend) without using a leave in. My hair really likes Long Aid gel so I hoping to find a happy medium without having to purchase something else. Experimenting gets expensive after a while.

@ Peggy I believe there is a topic post on shingling. I can't really explain it, I just read about it the other night and decided to give it a try.

i've experienced the white cloud also! sometimes it dries clear, sometimes it doesn't. ive been using giovanni leave in under the ecostyler.
tomorrow i will cowash and just use the ecostyler by itself and see what happens.
