Afro Puff Searched for Weapons....

I was flying from Atlanta to Detroit this week and got the pleasure of doing the full body scan.. It was fine with me, better safe then sorry. Then the TSA agent came over and told me she had to search my Afro Puff!! I'm like "really..it's not that big"! She smiles and says "you would be surprised.. but your hair is really soft"! I thanked her and went on my way thinking this is a whole new level of being NATURAL!!!

WOW lol where would have put this weapon @ this TSA people are tripping lol they once put me in a room and was asking me all types of questions because i decided to fly wearing some traditional african woman attire as an experiment and i was harassed

That's really bad... the only thing I think you could hide in an afro puff is a really small knife or maybe MACE. But still, it's like that tsa agent was trying to publicly humiliate you . That's not right.

I would have been upset if she messed up my puff I would have told her to run the wand across my hair but don't touch it!!

OMG LOL. That's kinda funny, lol.

I fly a lot. Like at least every 4 weeks, and thankfully I have not experienced that yet. Of course I would comply, but I'd feel some sort of way about it. We all want to be on a safe plane, but does everyone get equal scrutiny? If I have on a headwrap do I have to remove it? Does everyone of any faith have to remove theirs? Off to google......

LOL when I saw the title I was confused, so I had to come in to find out more. Can't believe they are searching people's hair now. Couldn't the scanner pick up anything if it was hidden in your hair. I thought those scanners were supposed to be really high tech.

That TSA agent just wanted to get her hands in her hair. "Search your hair" my ass.

I guess if someone tried to blow up a plane hiding something in their tighty whities (the "underwear bomber"), hair is not that unique. I would just hope she's put some clean gloves on before touching my hair. Like everyone else, I just thought the scanner would pick it up.

Since I have to travel with injectable medications with a sharps container, I'm used to being stopped and being questioned, etc - even with a doctors note.

LOL. This post made me laugh so hard. I cannot believe they actually did that to you. When I entered this thread I expected to see a link to a news site not an actual person. Girl, I would have been too mad at that TSA. This is like something out of a movie.
