S I decided to do a protein treatment today since #1-I have some free time and #2- I haven't done one in 7 months (I only do 2/yr). Well the one I usually make contains: mayo/egg/olive oil/condish/honey. and its goo that way but this time I decided to add a few more ingredients to that mix. Coconut oil and coconut milk. My hair felt sooo great after washing it out! It felt very strong from the protein but I think the extra oil ad milk gave it some moisturizing properties too. b/c it was very soft (by protein treat. standards.) I followed up by shampooing/ cowashing/detangling/and DT w/heat...my hair feels so moisturized and soft. I love hair therapy. If you like using homemade protein treatments this is a great one. I am very pleased and will be using this mix from now on.

When I run out of Aphogee, I am going to try this. Sounds like something that would cause nme much less panic, lol. Thanx for sharing your success!

Yea I've always been scared to use aphogee. Homemade is much gentler

Lol, I'm scared to use it now too with all I have learned about protein overload and the damage it can cause, etc. Until I finish the bottle, I am just going to follow the directions to the letter and space those suckers out. I can say that when I use it my hair sheds much less and feels stronger though...

I'm starting to think that my hair hates protein...because i did the Mayo/Egg treatment and my hair has been dry since (despite doing a deep conditioner treatment right after)....
idk...
But i'm glad you ladies have experienced soft hair Smile
