Braid N Curl
So last night I decided to braid my hair and roll the ends. I know a lot of people do this style. I like the results. I am not the best twister I dont think. I can never get consistent waves/curls all over my head, and I cant seem to eliminate getting frizz when taking my twists apart....dont know why, Im kind of heavy handed maybe? Or maybe I'm just retarded...
Either way, with the braids I got more consistent wave/curl pattern all over and less frizz when taking a part. It would seem that taking apart twists would be easier, but for me braids seem to be easier and yield less frizz. I mean I've only tried this style once, so I will have to report back once I try it again...
But here are a couple pics of my hair unfluffed

Re: Braid N Curl
Love it! Very pretty! What happened after you fluffed it? Did it remain relatively frizz free?

Re: Braid N Curl
gorgeous results!
I have yet to try it on wet hair. I brushed out my dry, day old twist-n-curl, added Blended Beauty's Silkshake to each section and proceeded to braid. I ended up with 8 braids. I love the results, but it got poofy and less defined by the end of the night. I rebraided a few hours ago..I'll report back later.
Does anyone have any tips for braiding close to the roots? I'm a horrible braider.

Re: Braid N Curl
@nikki, instead of starting the braid in a downward motion, start braiding like you are going straight out into the hair (if that makes sense) and after about 2 inches you can start back braiding in the regular fashion
I do way too many braids, LOL

Re: Braid N Curl
Good topic...I am in the process of deep conditioning my hair right now. I plan to do a braid out tonight instead of the coil out for the sake of time. I have never done a coil out and don't know how long it will take. Therefore, stick to something simple, LOL!
I hope my braid out looks like bella's because hers is HOT! It is very shiny. I want to see it fluffed out.

Re: Braid N Curl
@Nik G after I cowashed, I used Organix Coconut Milk Condish as my leave-in, then i applied like a half of pump of Elasta QP Design Foam Lotion to each section before braiding , then i applied Qhemet Burdock Butter to the ends
i did 6 braids on each side
thanks guys!
ETA:
I fluffed just a little at the roots to give me some volume--i didnt wanna fluff too much and mess it up as I always do with my twistouts lol ! I was out and about all day and it held up well, frizz was kept at a minimum, for me at least, i had a little frizzing at the crown, but thats my trouble area anyway...besides that....so far so good, will report back tomorrow.

Re: Braid N Curl
Your hair looks great! I can't wait to see the Day 2 pics!
I did a braidout this week but I did smaller braids and didn't roll the ends because I don't think a BnC would turn out the same since my hair is a different texture. Plus I'm not willing to test it out when I have to go to work the next day! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Looks great! Okay, how in the heck were you able to fluff w/o frizz??? Do you think it's the products you use or your fluffing technique?

Re: Braid N Curl
Thanks guys!!
@TravelJunkie--I Literally have NEVER had 2nd day hair like this w/ my regular twistouts! Im like twistout handicap, or just havent found a rhythm with it. I do think a BIG part of the success this go round is the Elasta QP Foam Lotion in combination with the braids. Like I mentioned, I just get a lot of tangling/inconsistency with my twists and i dont know why!
But my 2nd day hair has never EVER been like this.
Unfortunately my hair did get rained on today, so I have some frizz, but I think I will have a pretty decent day 3 and then I will probably cowash and rebraid. Ive never managed to get to day 4....toooo many tangles.
