I'm extremely allergic to Formaldehyde so these treatments aren't even remotely tempting but I appreciate the post. Tons of nail polish also contain formaldehyde; that's how I discovered my allergy! Eyes swollen shut, itchy rash and redness...NOT CUTE!!!

Consumers should be able to trust businesses but it would be naive to not educate ourselves! Be careful, ladies!!!

@Takeya there are natural water-based nail polishes that look just as good as the chemical-filled ones. My favorite brand is HoneyBee Gardens.

I bought the Vintage Merlot and its absolutely beautiful. Its odorless and comes off with rubbing alcohol. This might be a good alternative for you since you are allergic to the other ones.

Just wanted to put that out there for anyone interested!

Thanks, Jazmine! I've been looking for formaldehyde free nail polishes and this looks like an excellent option and the fact that it comes off with rubbing alcohol is icing on the cake!

Are you allergic too?

I am definitely going to check out the honeybeegardens nail polish.

I do not have an allergy, I just want to live a chemical free life as much as possible.

Good post and good comments. Thank you ladies!

@ jd12 I have seen people put that stuff on their infant babies, its crazy! If they only knew. . .

@Takeya nope I'm not allergic, I just decided to stop putting harsh chemicals on my body when I was 16 after I realized how many correlations there are to them and cancer (my "Aha"moment). I DO have allergies to fragrance though, which is another reason why I don't wear perfume anymore. I actually have sprayed plain artificial vanilla extract (the kind people cook with) as a perfume before and it smells amazing! Its a very light scent that you can only smell up close but thats what I like about it. Vanilla is a sexy smell!

"In controlled tests designed to better understand the connection between smell and sexual arousal, Dr. Hirsch had volunteers wear masks scented with an array of odors. Several fragrance combinations were found to be very effective in increasing penile blood flow. These included lavender and pumpkin pie, doughnut and black licorice and pumpkin pie and doughnut. However, mature men were most aroused by just one simple smell, vanilla. Modern science has proven what native people figured out centuries ago, and many of us discovered on our own -- whether you prefer to eat, drink, or smell it, vanilla is definitely a potent character in the arena of love."

LOL...I love Vanilla scents too! I never wear perfume because of my allergies so I might have to give the vanilla extract a try. Wink
