Thinning edges

I currently work in the operating room at a local hospital and have noticed that my edges are getting thinner due to wearing OR caps all day. I feel like they cause friction on my hair. I wear protective styles maximum for a week, and I do not put traction on my edges. My question is does anyone else work in the OR and realize that their edges are thinning from the caps or any suggestions on what to do to prevent them from thinning any further? Thanks

i dont work in the or lol but maybe u can put a silk scarf underneath or a silk bonnet to minimize friction on your edges
