Twists are my favorite protective style
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I have been protective styling for about a month and let me just scream " I LOVE THEM" They are so versatile and forces me to keep my hands out of my hair. I've got HIH syndrome really bad!! I can't help it!! Here are a few pics...tell me what you think about my new BFF's

That is very cute!!! I was just sitting here thinking to myself. My favortie go to/protective style is growing out because my hair is longer so I do want to try my attempt at twisting my whole head. I am very good with twists but never seem to have the time to do my whole head. Do you make them small or medium? When you do your updos do you just take some twists and pin and go with the flow or you have an idea of what you are doing before you start pinning up???

I am not going to lie..I had to set aside a huge time frame to accomplish this but the upside to this is they can last a week or longer depending on how you take care of them. I made the twists rather small but not "mini" if that makes sense. I have a lot of hair so this took me about 4.5 hours to do on top of that I have 4yr old twin boys that are very demanding especially when I am doing my hair...lol

Thanks for the tip! It doesn't look like a french braid. Very simple but cute! I will be trying that this weekend if time permits with my curly girlies (5yrs & 4 yrs). I plan to twist all of our heads

love em!!!! i pretty much wear twists the majority of time and i attribute my hair growth to them (in addition to protecting the ends, proper handeling and quality products). the shortest amount of time i have left them was a week or so and the longest was 6 weeks.
it would be great if you can do a tututorial of some your twists styled?

The twists look great. I have company portraits tomorrow I hope you don't mind that I'm doing to re-create this style with my own hair
Re: Twists are my favorite protective style
You've officially convinced me to do some protective styling with Twists. Probably not this week, but definitely after I wash next week. I've been hesitant because I HATE spending hours twisting my hair small enough to be presentable, but it will be worth it if they last me 2-3 weeks
thanks for the pics and the inspiration!

Me too. Twists are my go to style now. I want to start doing tutorials as soon as I get a better camera. WOW...I'm impressed you could keep twists in for 6 weeks.

@newlynina - I like the way your twists look in the back. I would love to do a twist/protective style but just don't think it looks "right" on me. My twists turn out s-p-a-c-e-y looking
Approx how many twists did you do for this style?
