One month NATURAL!!!

Yay! It's been a whole month now, and I am loving my hair sooo much... I wish I would have done this years ago! I've seen quite a bit of growth in that span of time! I don't remember my hair ever growing this fast, but I'm thinking that it had a lot to do with breakage.

I am excited about continuing this journey, and it's great to say that after a VERY long time, I have healthy, happy hair that I CAN'T keep my hands out of!

Thanks All! I used to hate my freckles, but now, I love 'em! I think the curly hair (and having hair away from my face) brings them out!

@Free2Be - I've been looking at your hair and wondering the same time. I love your curls, girl! I've been thinking about doing a henna treatment, and have actually bought some, but I'm afraid of it loosening my curls too much. What is your experience with it?

JLowman, wyldhoney, & Clueless - Thanks so much! I'm so happy I found CN... It has definitely helped me figure out what to do with my hair. I haven't seen my TRUE texture in about 20 years, and I've learned that I have to get to know my hair so I can take the best care of it...

Having used henna for the past 6 mos. or so, I can definitely say it has loosened my curls a bit with repeated uses...which worries me. I only use the henna for color. I'm not concerned about any other benefits; I just need to cover my gray. LOL

But absolutely I've noticed my curl pattern is much looser and that bothers me a little bit. Not enough to lose sleep over, but I don't want to wind up with loose, droopy curls. I like them all oingy-boingy. :~} Of course, my hair has grown during this time so it could be a combo of the henna plus the longer hair/weight pulling the curls down.

Your hair does look great. And the growth is really noticable. Congrats!

Free2Be - My curl pattern in the back in really really loose, almost just wavy when wet. So, I want to henna (for the color, since I'm a color junkie), but I'm afraid that it'll go all the way straight and I'll just have curls on top. That would look weird. LOL. It probably is partly the weight that's loosening your curl, though.

I just posted these pics in the henna forum. This is today after a twist out last night. See how much straighter/wavy it is from the roots on? It didn't use to be like that. It should begin the curling pattern no less than an inch from the roots, but it's loose. I think it's the henna.

@Sleeping Beauty - We get snow here, so I'm planning on attempting twist outs and will be wrapping my hair this Winter. I may or may not do WnGs, depending on if I'll be out early or in the evening... I also have a friend who does kinky twists, so I may even have those put in for a little while.
