One of the best tricks I've learned is that adding olive oil (or whatever your fave oil is) and honey to an affordable condtioner can make a big difference. Although I dunno about honey in the winter since it's a humectant but it's all trial and error and your location. HEHH, olive oil and honey was amazing to me.

I'm using Giovanni SAS which is around $6-$8 a bottle but I mix it with EVOO to stretch it and it will last quite a while. I only use it as a DC.

I do want to try my HEHH as a DC as well. Haven't tried it yet though.

This is my philosophy, too! My fav DC is Cholesterol + honey + vatika oil +EVOO. Works great for me!

I like making my own. YouTube has great recipes. Also, Shea Moisture DC is good as well, $10 a jar.

I like this DC also. I used for the first time this past Sunday and it was really moisturizing. However that can be due to the fact that I add honey, EVOO, castor oil, & coconut oil to it.

Anyway, after you rinsed out the conditioner and it was time to style your hair, do you notice any small beades in your hair?

Well if you like to shop like me but on a budget here's my list order:

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle - $3
SheScentIt banana brulee - $17
KBB Luscious Locs - $25

I have a bunch on the 3 minute miracle because it's so cheap. I like the banana Brulee because it doesn't break the bank and the company has sells, I got 3 jars for $9 last month (each). Now the KBB Luscious Locs is my Holy Grail to DC's. Once this stuff touches my hair it's instantly soft. I use this after a protein treatment so one jar lasts me a very long time, like 6-8 months.

This winter I will be relying on Aussie and SheScentIt to take care of me and if the slap me around I will go to KBB to rescue me.

lekair cholesterol and cholesterol brands are suuupppeeeerrr cheap $2-$3 at sallys. i personally use lekair like religion. both brands have several different lines w/diff ingredients. currently im using the lekair w/jojoba oil but my hair loooooooovvvvveeeesss the one with mango and shea butter. i use em straight up or add oil (whatever i have on hand). ive also added mayo, evoo & and egg (DC &condition at the same time), but this mixture does NOT last stored, has to be used same day. HTH!!

you can also use straight up mayo as a DC since its essentially olive oil & eggs. but if your hair doesnt like protein or olive oil steer clear. feels weird smelling mayo on your scalp while its on but it doesnt leave an after scent. it works *shrug*

I love using the Suave Naturals Almond and Shea Butter Conditioner. You can get it at Target for less than $3. I add a small amount of honey and EVOO to it. It comes out really soft and shiny.
