Deep Conditioner anyone?
I am looking for a inexpensive deep conditioner that has the ability to moisturize and would leave my hair really soft. Is there anything out there no more then $10 that is somewhat natural?
Thank you ladies.
Thank you ladies.
Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner is a great DC..it's really thick so it serves well as a DC and it always leaves my hair real soft. Curlynikki uses it as her DC as well (that's how I stumbled across it) and its only like $8 or $9 dollars. I buy mines from vitamin shoppe but its also sold at whole foods..oh yea its also a natural product

I cosign rayray's suggestion along with Aubrey's Jojoba & Aloe Desert Herb Conditioner or Earthly Delight Conditioner (also usually found at a health food store like Whole Foods) too. Either one of those is a great dc. For the Earthly Delight, I usually spike it with avocado and some extra olive oil for a dc. I love the smell of the Earthly Delight Conditioner too. It's mildly sweet with a spicy undercurrent. It has some protein so if you're sensitive, don't overuse it. These are my mercedes-top of the line-condishes.
Occasionally, I also use the Lustrasilk Shea Butter Cholesterol plus. Not completely natural but it works fine and you can get a lot of it for pretty cheap. If you really need to slather your hair, you can use this. Still, I spike this one too with avocado and olive oil and throw a cap on for a while.

Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
Hey!
I stumbled across a cool concoction: it's the walgreen brand...BioFusion Olive Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment ($10) and I mix it with honey, olive & castor oil! Man...it makes my hair so soft.
There is one cone it though...the "good" (or not so bad one): Dimethicone...but other than that, it has pretty good ingredients.
Hmmm...I may need to get that Aubrey's conditioner...everyone raves about it! :-)

Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
Like these other ladies, I use Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose. I've mixed mine with olive oil, which makes it even better, so when it's time to detangle, my comb goes through my hair like butter!

Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
I used the SheaMoisture Deep Treatment Masque thats sold at Target now for the first time last week as a DC and it left my hair feeling very moisturized and soft.

I'm sitting with a baggie on my head now. I just deep conditioned - LOL. I mixed some ORS Replenshing Conditioner with EVOO, organic coconut oil, jojoba oil, a little vegetable glycerin and castor oil. This is the 2nd time I've done this and I just added the last two ingredients to see what happens. The first time, it left my hair very very soft.

Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
I am currently transitioning so I haven't tried all of these products. Trying not to fall into the PJism hype!!!
I have actually been making my own deep conditioner. I take my fave VO5 Moisture Milks Condish, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Melted Mango Butter, and Honey!!! Mmmmmm lovely!!! I smooth it in, braid it up, and sip some lemonade... we have had mad heat waves!!!
But I like to make my own... N its cheap and quick...
Hope that helps!!!

I love Organic Root Stimulator Replenishing Conditioner, it always leaves my hair feeling soft and well moisturized. It's not expensive either. They have the little packs for $1.79 at CVS, WalMart or the beauty supply store. I got a whole bottle from WalMart for about $5.
Naturalin, I'm gonna have to try your mix the next time I deep condition.....sounds like a tasty meal for my hair. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
I mix my own. I use whatever conditioner I happen to have (Giovanni Smooth as Silk, Aubrey Organics White Camellia, Yes To Cucumbers) and I mix it with honey, jojoba oil, castor oil and vitamin e.
I always recommend this to everyone but I would say look on Youtube.... that's where I got ideas on what to use for a DC

Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
I use Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Deep Conditioner or Pantene Relaxed and Natural's Breakage Defense Mask. Both are reasonably priced and work great on my hair.
If I cant get to these, I'll just use a regular conditioner then add honey and olive oil...

Yes to Carrots (Cucumbers or Tomatoes - I like them all) & either just Vatika Oil, or a combo of babyfood bananas, coconut oil, honey, grapeseed oil (jojoba oil, almond oil, etc. This is the only part that varies).

@blondie - hmm, I never thought to do an overnight DC. I think I'm going to try that the next time.
Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
For a protein deep conditioner I use mayonnaise, yogurt, honey, & an egg. I do both over night. Sorry, I 4got to add this 1 earlier

I really like Aubrey Organics HSR and Giovanni Smooth As Silk is awesome! I'm going to give Blondie's recipe a try. It sounds yummy for your hair!
Re: Deep Conditioner anyone?
I wouldn't do mayo w/ heat just b/c it contains eggs, vinegar, etc. I tried it 1 time & lets just say that's not a smell you want on your hair...
