anyone have problems with shedding after you bunned your hair for a few days? is this normal?

I use to but now I dip my scrunchi in JBCO before securing my hair and I make sure my ends are saturated with moisturizer (QB Amla and Olive or OH Whipped Pudding). Now I don't have as much breaking when bunning.
