Resurrecting Midnight by Eric Jerome Dickey
International assassin Gideon spilled blood for the first time when he
was seven years old, with a single shot to the head of a man who was
attempting to kill the woman Gideon had known as his mother. The victim
was none other than his own father, a man of unspeakable evil. This
pivotal event shaped Gideon throughout his life, made him who he is,
one of the fiercest, most feared hired guns in the world.

I met Mr Dickey! In the words of my pastor...How many people know you can love a person's gift but not the person? He was extremely rude( at a book singing where there were only 4 people, including HIM). Since then I havent read another one of his novels.
He is a truly gifted writer, however he is a really arrogant man! I was so dissappointed, since I was a HUGE FAN!!!

That is so sad!!! And I will be praying for his deliverance from being arrogant. He needs to be humble and be grateful that God sends him fans. Hmmm And I really like the Gideon Series....Thanks for the info sista.

Oh wow, he must have been having a bad day because when I met him, he was very warm and inviting, I have a picture with him and everything. I even talked briefly with him about coming back if one of my orgs decided to do a Celebration of AA Literature and he was super excited about it.
I love EJD and all of his books. I started Resurrecting Midnight, but then I realized that I hadn't read Dying for Revenge. I will probably start DFR this weekend.

Hey Nyla,
I'm also sorry you've meet him in a bad mood. I've met him twice so far, once in NYC and the second this past March in Long Island, NY both times he was a wonderfully, funny, sweet and happy man. I can't imagine why he was off his rocket the day you met him, but we are all human and humans do have bad days.....

I love EJD! Resurrecting Midnight was OMG wonderful! I can't wait for the next book. In the meantime I'm reading Carl Weber.
Re: Resurrecting Midnight by Eric Jerome Dickey
Wow, I've been slipping! I didn't know there was an additional Gideon book after Dying for Revenge. I'll have to check my local library for Resurrecting Midnight!

I'm currently reading either Sleeping with Strangers or Waking with Enemies. All I have to say is the sex scenes are very graphic and descriptive. By the time I get off the train I feel like I need a cold shower.

I really like E J D as well but I have to say I liked his work before the Gideon series better. I have nothing against a steamy novel but for some reason I just don't like them as much. I can't wait to read his new book that's out !

I'd suggest placing it on hold now. I'm surprised I got mine as soon as I did because when I placed it on hold I was 96th and that was about 2 weeks ago.
I need to carve some time out to sit down with it. I've been reading a chapter a day so far.

I had no idea that Resurrecting Midnight was part of a series. I was embarking on a road trip and just happened to pick this book on CD up. When I tell you that I was so into the book that my driving kept pace with the guy's voice who was reading it, please believe that it's the truth . I will most definately pick up the others in this series and catching up before the next one comes out.

Justice, you started at the end of the series. I think the first one is Sleeping with Strangers. But you can find it on his website. I would suggest reading all of the books in order. EJD uses his characters in all of his books so it ends up being a pleasant (sometimes) surprise.
Re: Resurrecting Midnight by Eric Jerome Dickey
Thanks for the title of the first one. I've already placed a hold on it at the library and will be picking it up tomorrow.

OK! I'm reading Tempted by Trouble and Bishop is in this book and I'm pulling my hair out trying to remember who he is. I know he's a bad guy. Does anyone remember him? hahahaha
Some else said something to me about the Gideon series and I layed in the bed thinking about all of the books. I had a smile on my face thinking, "man, those book are good!" hahahahaha
