Suave Almond and Shea Butter Empty Suave Almond and Shea Butter

Post by SasahT 25th August 2010, 11:33 pm

Anyone experience dryness with this conditioner as a leave in? I tried this stuff when I was transitioning (b/c everyone said it was great). It was ok on my transitioning hair, but I liked the results of the Suave Rosemary and Mint much better. I decided to buy this stuff again, seeing that my hair is all natural now, thinking it may work a lot better. For the past week my hair has been SUPER hard and crunchy. I couldn't figure out what it was. I gave myself a hot oil treatment and deep conditioned, still super dry. Yesterday I thought it might be because I was using this conditioner when I cowash and then leaving it in. So today I cowashed with it, but then rinsed it all out and then applied another conditioner as a leave it. My hair is back to it's softness no dry crunchy hair. It's so weird cause I never had that problem with this product when my hair was transitioning, and never heard anyone else on the forums mention dryness with this conditioner.

I love this product and use it as a co-wash only.

It doesnt really work as a leave in for me...it didnt necessarily make my hair hard, if i recall correctly, it just didn't do anything for it or moisturize it at all...so now I just co-wash w/ it, esp. since I don't think it has all-natural ingredients in it...probably not the best thing to leave in hair anyway (at least for me).

I've never tried it but almonds are a source of protein so maybe your hair is protein sensitive and you can't leave protein on it to dry?

I'm transitioning and I use the Suave as a co-wash. I put conditioner in my hand and put a little honey in with it. Then I detangle in sections. I like it better than the Hello Hydration for now.
