Big Chop On Wednesday
Hi ladies! I'm so excited. After six months of transitioning, I am getting all of the relaxer chopped out of my hair on Wednesday!
If I had my choice, I would do it today. This morning I washed and set on rollers. I had a couple of knots. I was distraught. I'm tired of dealing with the two textures. Also, I am ready to go back to the gym.
I am having some anxiety...What if my face is too big? What if my HEAD is too big?

I felt the same way about my BC! I thought my forehead was way too big to be out like that...but after I did my BC i realized that my forehead wasnt that big...I was trying to hide it for all these years and there was no need..so the BC definitely gave me some confidence!!
I'm sure your going to love you twa..I feel in love with mines from day one!!! and its growing sooooo fast too!! Being able to see my natural hair grow and learn how to take care of it, is a great!!!

Congrats! You're going to look GREAT, so no worries.
I'm doing my big chop on Wednesday as well...only 3 months of transitioning for me. I have cheeks for DAYS and I'm still going to rock it. LOL

Yes you two will be fine. Just buy a few goody's headbands and keep stepping. Sometimes I don't like how my hair looks "out and free" but if I put on a headband and push it back a little bit then I love it Just a little change makes all the difference!
Re: Big Chop On Wednesday
Well, I will post pictures. I am going to take my camera.
CyclingChick (don't I know you??? ), are you going to take pictures?

Re: Big Chop On Wednesday
DaButterfly, I'm not sure. I had a weight loss website for years (now a blog). I guess I'm somewhat known in the Weight Watcher community? LOL
Yes...will be taking pictures. Mine is actually going to be a little big chop. I had 5 inches of relaxer cut off in early July and had it taken back down to pixie length. About 2 inches of relaxed hair remaining on the top...natural on the sides/back.

Re: Big Chop On Wednesday
Hi!!!!!!!!
I'm here!!!
I cried in the chair. Not because of "the loss", but because I loved the results. I was a little skeptical before he applied the gel. But after the curls popped, it was all over.
The funny part is that I transitioned for six months. I had about two and half inches of new growth. After he got done cutting, I have one inch of hair.
Why didn't I cut it off at the beginning of the summer?!?! I could have had a more active summer instead of "transitioning". Lesson learned!
He used Nexxus Phyto Organics gel. It was soo thick and tacky. I touched my hair so much that my fingers were sticking together. Too much gel! I didn't like the way my hair felt, so I washed it and used the EcoStyler gel.
It feels so much better. I am very excited.
My regret??? I am not very happy with my outfits or my jewelry!

Ooh DBB, I can't wait to see! Why did he cut it off to 1 inch? Now you get to hear everyone raving about you and telling you how great you look. How fun! And go shopping for new outfits & earrings -- even better!
CC, I notice your new do, too! You look fantastic! Congrats!

It is four oclock in the morning. I'm so excited because I am going to boot camp this morning!!!!!
I can't believe it! I am going to work out in the morning and...then go to work! If I wanted to work out during my lunch break, I could!
I am going to take pictures after I have "applied my face".
Natchral - he used clippers and then scissors. I was skeptical, but it turned out nicely.

LOL Thank you! I look at it this way, there's not enough Yaki in the world to disguise these cheeks, so I might as well embrace them and get to chopping.

Re: Big Chop On Wednesday
Thanks ladies! I am a week and a half in and I still like it!
Yesterday was kind of an interesting day. I stayed over my mother's house and I *thought* that she had products that I could use for a wash 'n go. My mother is a 3b/3c and a serious PJ.
NOPE!!!!
I used some sulfate-free moisturizing conditioner (L'Oreal) and my hair felt DRY! I wanted to cry! I used her coconut oil and it did nothing for me. I had no other choice but to go to work with a dry, dry, desert dry TWA. I was almost tempted to run to my hair guy during my lunch break to have him wash, condition and gel me up. Yes. Hair is that serious to me .
So, I added a little olive oil before bed and then followed my morning routine.
Hello Hydration
Olive Oil (first day using it)
Direct Leave In
Ecco Gel
I really liked the results. Very soft and nice.
I have some exciting news. I have been asked to be a model for an editorial shoot. The photos will be displayed in a museum for a month! There is even going to be an opening and everything! I am extremely flattered. But in the back of my mind I wish that I had enough time to "diet". I'll represent for the tall, thick sistas.
