Cutting Shears

I have some Goody shears that I use to trim my ends, but I think they may be doing more harm than good. 8" long hair after two years of being natural is all the proof I need of that.
What should I look for when purchasing shears?
I'll probably buy them at Sally's. If you know of a pair there that's good, feel free to link me
