Slick and Tamed Edges: ORS Edge Control
I wanted to find a product that can tame my edges..they are wild and out of control. Currently, I'm using Elasta QP Mango Butter which is not working @ this point and time. I've used Elasta QP Glaze and like the Mang Butter it will lay down for about 10 minutes and it rises again...
I saw on another website that people were recommending ORS Edge Control...has anybody used it? If so, what are your thoughts? I was interested in purchasing this product along with some EcoStyler Gel (olive oil) and see how it does.
Thanks in advance! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I haven't tried the ORS Edge Control, but I do use gel. Have you tried the ecostyler gel by itself?

@BajanPrincess82: I bought the Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel and it did a pretty good job. I think I should tie it down a little longer next time...I see why you guys rave abt this product..because when I put it in my hair it made my curls pop!!!!

I use the regular ecostyler gel and it works pretty well. I put it on my edges, brush them up, and then cover my hair with a scarf for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Re: Slick and Tamed Edges: ORS Edge Control
My hair type is a mixture of 3C and 4A. The 4A section is mainly on the crown of my head. The perimeter of my hair is all 3C.
I haven't tried the olive oil Ecostyler yet (only because it wasn't on the shelf when I was ready to buy it), but I plan to. I use IC Aloe Vera Gel too, but what I like about Ecostyler is that I can put it on top of oils/shea butter and it works great. The IC Aloe Vera Gel doesn't play nice with some stuff under it.

I think i'm a 3c/4a as well except I'm the opposite...4a around the perimeter, lol. I tied my edges down for 20 minutes and u are absolutely right - slicked that bad boy down. I'm liking this Ecostyler [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Yay! Glad you found a solution! 4a around the perimiter...thats gotta be tricky! Its so hard for me to find products that both hair types like. My 4a hair is so fragile and loves to break off at any chance it gets!

Re: Slick and Tamed Edges: ORS Edge Control
Thanks girl. That picture was a twist-and-curl puff. Here's what I usually use:
Shampoo - Creme of Nature Shampoo (the old version that doesn't have sulfates) or Trader Joe's Tea Tree shampoo.
Conditioner - Herbal Essences Totally Twisted or Hello Hydration, Yes to Carrots, Yes to Tomatoes (just b/c I found it for liek $4 at Ross), or Garnier Fructisse Sleek and Shine. If i'm using Herbal Essence or Garnier I leave them in either for the wash-and-go look or to twist/braid. I also use a mixture of shea butter/coconut oil and olive oil on top of the conditioner.
I just started using the Kimmaytube leave-in conditioner concoction, but I'm not sure that I'm feeling it yet.

Re: Slick and Tamed Edges: ORS Edge Control
Yes, I have tried the ORS Edge Control and I LOVE IT!! I works really well and it's not too greasy and shiny like the Elasta QP Glaze that I usually use. I put it on my edges, brushed them down and put on a scarf for about 10 minutes and there were laid down real good. I think it's definitely worth trying if you haven't before or if you really have a hard time keeping your edges down. I have used the Mango Butter a lot in the past, but just like others have said it will keep your hair down for a while but not the whole day. Try the ORS Edge Control...You won't regret it!
