Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
I would like to join, I put in some small twist last week and will keep them in for two weeks. But I might mix in some braids during the month, is that ok???
After I take out these twist, I will wash my hair and redo the twist or braids each week after wearing my hair out for a day or two. I need variety!!!
Also, I will trim my hair after I take down these small twist. I'm currently APL and I want to be BSL by the end of the year so these protective styles will help me reach my goal.

Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
Well...I made it through week 1. I wore wNG's this weekend. However, time got a way from me and I wasn't able to re-twist until last night. This is the style I'm wearing this week....the same as last week almost!!

I'm in too. I usually twist on Sundays and take it down Fridays (just in time for the weekend!). I have no problems wearing twists for an entire week!

Still wearin' the twists and I love this challenge because I don't have to do much since it's in twists.

I'm super late...but I'm in! I'll twist, trim, measure...and let the games begin!
My twist will last for about 4-5 days, I'll rock the twist out for a day and then start all over again.
I haven't tried wetting them mid-week...I'll have to try that. This is my first challenge...kinda excited!

Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
I measured my hair last week and the shortest parts measure about 11 inches and the longer sections measure 13inches. I am hoping to retain a full inch by the time the challenge ends.
Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
Dang...I keep missin' out on the twist challenges!
Seen some pretty nice hair...lookin' goon ladies!
I have been twisting regardless....keeping them in for 2-3 days at a time maybe 4 depending, wearing a twist-out 2 days and then shampooing/ deep conditioning or co-washing and then re-twisting all over. I read about sister-twists in the last twist challenge thread and have been doing those now for the last 3 times....WOW is all I can say [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]!

Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
Last week I shampooed, conditioned, and twisted my hair with coconut oil. This weekend when I took my hair out it was so soft!
Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
Hi Ladies...
I'm still twisted...hair that is!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] The sides are flat twisted and 2 strand twist all over. No picture...almost the same style as last week.
This weekend I only wore my hair out 1 day which was Saturday. Then I did a henna treatment, dc'ed,used KimmayTube's leave-in conditioner, and twisted with Ecostyler Custard.
Real simple right? However, I need to find something to use on my twists during the week for moisture. What I've been using is making my twists frizzy. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Have a great week ladies!!

Thank you Nyla
I'm trying to stay committed to this challenge. It was hard at first, but I'm enjoying this now. I don't feel the urge to shampoo after 2 or 3 days!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
Hi Ladies...
Is this challenge still going on? Well I've been sort of MIA...got family in town and I've been under the weather. However, through it all I've still been twisted..LOL
I wore my hair like my avatar picture the week of August 9th. My sister-in-law braided the front, and I twisted the back using AfroVeda's Curls Define!! This was a fun style using a half-wig...got a lot of compliments.
This week I am back to twists out bangs and twists in the back pinned up. I'll try and post a picture this week.
I think the challenge ends on the 19th? Right? Well anyway...I'm glad I stuck to and completed one challenge!!!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
How did (or is) everyone's challenge going?
I was going to stop this week but since I wore my hair out for a week straight when I went on vacation it needs some time to recuperate. I am back in twist this week and I am finding that the more I do twists the faster I get at doing them. Also, back in Jan I had a problem with SSKs after wearing twists for a month - redoing them every week seems to be helping a lot with keeping them at bay.

Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
Twisting my hair all summer has definetly helped bring it back to life! My hair was so dry when I came back from school in May and now it feels revived I've also learned how to get more better twistouts so i'm a happy camper.
This is what my hair currently looks like. I'll most likely wash and re-twists on wednesday since schools starting up again!

Re: NEW TWIST CHALLENGE
I have officially stopped my twist challenge. I started on Jul 18 and stopped Sep 2. It was actually easy to know what I was going to do with my hair each week.
I went a little longer on my challenge because the hubby and I went on out anniversary trip in Aug and I wore my hair out for a week. The downside is that I got a lot of SSKs from doing that and had to trim about 1/2 all over.
I got the best results from my twists when I used coconut oil to twist my hair.
I still retained some growth:
Start: 11-13inches
End: 12-13.5 inches
Today I have my ends up in a bun and I just may start back bunning for awhile.
