Hey has anyone ever used flaxseed hair gel? If so, what were your results?? I was thinking about making some today when I got home but wanted some opinions about it first. :-)

I've made it twice so far and used it for twists in my hair, my daughters hair and a few nieces as well. They come out great using this gel. I love it!

Flaxseed hair gel Empty Flaxseed hair gel results

Post by devastatingdiva 16th July 2010, 10:25 am

Ok, so I made the flaxseed gel last night and was amazed at the results. The hold was great and it didn't leave my hair hard or greasy. I did a dry twist out with a little of the gel on each section. Since my hair is still kind of short, it didn't look like a twist out but I still like the results.

Hi Ladies,

I have the ingredients at home too, but I'm wondering if the gel will work well on transitioning hair. What do you think?

Hi Ladies,

I recently made my own Flax seed gel (recipe from naptural 85's you tube channel) and it is awesome. My hair is thinning and fine and Cnnot take too much or too heavy products. This gel is just right. I just modified it a bit, added some different EO's (vetivert, ylang ylang and sandalwood) and some Grapefruit seed extract (natural preservative). I really like it but i do not know whether it works on transitioning hair..

I've done it. It works great by itself but I usually mix it with ecostyler gel and honey for incredible definition and shine

HTH!

Look up Naptural85 on YouTube. I use her recipe, but you don't have to put all those EO's in there like she does. I only put Vit E oil and 1 EO, usually peppermint.

I made this awhile back and it was a mess. I could not get the seeds out. Bought a cheese cloth and it was not squeezing through. My strainer was no help at all. Is there a video of someone actually showing steps the ones I viewed didn't

Hi clueless, the trick is to take it off the fire before it gets too thick.

You have to watch it closely, once it starts to really froth and bubble up vigorously, take it off the heat and strain it right away. it thickens as it cools.

something to consider using to strain the gel is a lingerie bag. The one that is used for washing your unmentionables... Laughing
