Twist out and Nikkimaes "roll under"
Welcome to my curl street journal! I only found curlynikki.com a few weeks ago but have been addicted!!!! I have been natural four four years now. I never did a big chop, i just stopped relaxing. my usual routine up until a month ago was a press n curl. I decided to stop pressing my hair for two reasons, mainly because its summer and i was going on vacation and was extremly annoyed with my hair. i was even more annoyed when i asked people for styling advice that could handle heat, water, and humidity they all just said "get a weave or micros" i also didnt want to keep up my usual routine which would be taking almost all my tools and products on vacation. so i found curlynikki and a whole bunch of other site, blogs, and youtube and have been addicted everysince.
in the past month, i have tried only two strand twist and twist outs. i created a fotki, started using my blog, took almost 200 pictures of my hair , and probably spent close to $100 or more on pruducts and accessories.
i never knew that stylingg natural hair could be so beautiful, versatile , and fun. i am so happy to have found so much information. now heres some pics
pressed hair
my first twist
my puff which i dont wear in public lol

Re: Twist out and Nikkimaes "roll under"
i am frustrated! i took out my lovely twist in hopes of a nice twist out and because of my stupid heat damaged ends it looked horrible. not only were the ends straight and pointing in all kinds of crazy directions, it was stiff and just looked bad! i am too tired to start a new by washing my hair so i retwisted into large twist and rod setted my hair. hopefully my hair wont be a disater in the am.
DC trip
i spent the weekedn in DC with my family at my husbands family reunion.
it was a very good hair weekend, even though i did my hair almost
everyday. i got a few compliments, met another natural gal, and just
enjoyed being *comfertable with my hair ok here are the pics. i will
post more on my blog.
this was the first day, this was a twist n curl that didnt last 5 minutes in the heat lol
the next day, i did a twistout , copying tiashuntees method. i liked it :0
btw, thats my little girl Ava, and the dress michelle obama wore
this was my banquet day hair

day 5 twist
My hair has been twisted for five days now and guess what??? i dont have the urge to take them down! I am gonna keep these in for another week possibly. that will make this a 2 week hairstyle if it can last. this morning i did some curl defining because my heat damaged ends are stringy and annoying, i soaked the ends with water, added some ECO gel, and twirled around my fingers and got curls! anyways, heres some pics of my hair on day 5 of my 2 strand twist!
this is my TNC from last week, i loved the definition here, so i had to throw it in
the next are are day 5 twist

Re: Twist out and Nikkimaes "roll under"
Nice hair! you have the juicy twists I always find myself coveting!
Re: Twist out and Nikkimaes "roll under"
Love those twists and your puff! So why don't you wear your puff in public?
Re: Twist out and Nikkimaes "roll under"
Krazy coils, thanks. About the puff.... I. Just not at that level of confidence yet. Also I've never let my hair dry in a puff so I don't know if it will look as nice dry and I do know that ny hair gets really matted if it isn't "dealt with"....... one day I will be there because I do love my puff
Thanks poeticlyspeaking, my twist are chunky but there are some stringy damaged ones hiding. Your hair looks like it would produce juicy twist?????

Re: Twist out and Nikkimaes "roll under"
so i have had my hair in 2strand twist for a week. i needed to redo my
hair but i was too tire tonight. i got in the shower and wet my twist,
when i got out of the shower i fell in love! i had the best curls!!!!
my hair usually (because of heat damage) doest curl in most parts of
my hair. but i guess these past few weeks of taking better care of it
and avoiding the flat iron is helping. anyways, i was inspired by my
nice little curls so i am running an experiment, first i put about
quarter size of shea butter in my hair while dripping wet, then i
rubbed some KCCC on my hair (about 5 twists at a time) and just let it
dry. its not completly dry, but when i undid one twist it looked
beautiful! its like a WNG/twist out. lol i hope it turns out ok
heres some pics of my curls....excuse my messy room
