Hi!

Does anyone do pre-poo hot oil treatments? I did a pre-poo treatment with extra virgin red palm oil last night before cleansing w/ Giovanni Tea Tree and my hair is super soft this morning.

I think it might be a bit too... soft though... Does that make sense? confused

My aunt's a hairdresser and she said that if my hair's too soft, it'll start to break. Maybe my hair's too porous? confused

Yes I pre-poo with oils. My hair is super sofy afterwards at times. I just reduce the time I leave it on my hair

OMG, I just did a hot oil pre-poo. I applied a mixture of wheat germ, olive, neem and EVO oils on scalp and Vatika on hair. I will leave it on for an hour.

I wonder how your hair could get overmoisturized (mushy) with a hot oil pre-poo.

@nmoultry - I just BC'ed 2 weeks ago, so I just have a TWA right now. I just need to take a new picture. What do you usually use in your oil treatment?

@ChrsLvsBks - I didn't think I could over moisturize my hair with oil either. I think my hair's just too pourous? I think... confused

Hi CocoP: I use coconut oil along with Ojon Restorative Treatment (basically red palm oil)

In the past, it worked well. Be forewarned, neem oil stinks to high heaven, rather hell, LOL. I use neem powder on my face on occasion. It is to help with dandruff and acne.

I planned to do an ayurvedic treatment after washing it today. Thank goodness I needed a reason to turn on the water before applying it because I have no water in my home.
