discouraged

the other night, i got really upset and discouraged with my hair. its only been about 3 weeks since i decided to start trying more natural styles and i have been 3 weeks without flat ironing my hair. well a couple nights ago, i got upset because i thought my hair looked too different and i didnt feel like hearing the comments i would probably get at work. i had twisted my whole head, for a twist out but when i undid the twist my hair was too weighed down. the style was also kinda hot for the heat wave we are in. anyways, i did and updo but didnt really like it. in the end i just flat ironed my hair! whil flat ironing i noted some much breakage and split ends. i am not sure if its from the heat or from my recent experiments, or it could have just been from me not having a trim in a few months.

so fast forward to today, i feel much better. when i went to work a lot of people asked me why i took my twist out! everyone loved that style. this reaction made feel feel confident again, so i am back on the bandwagon.

i plan on purchasing a few products in the next few weeks, so that i can try some new styles. i think my first purchase will be Miss jessies buttercreame.

As humans we tend to seek the approval of others and it's great when we get it. Just keep in mind that there will be days when you just LOVE your hair and no one else will. Don't worry about them, just focus on boosting your confidence and any style you wear you will be able to wear proudly. Confidence makes us look great on our worst days.

Hang in there! We all get discouraged and sometimes we need to step away and put our focus elsewhere. Glad you were able to push thru it!

I think it's natural to get discouraged with our hair. I have my days when I wish I could "will" it to grow so I won't have a TWA and so I can try all of the styles so many ladies have been talking about. But then I realize that my hair is my hair and I've gotta love her regardless cuz she's the only thing that's been with me for all of my 29 years on this earth. Glad to hear you're feeling better about it.

I think alot of us get discouraged about our hair from time to time but it is up to us to make the best of it. I have found on my worst days i get compliments which is very funny to me.

Are you kidding?! You need to come do my hair!! And I'm not kidding.

Yesterday was my first time regretting doing my big chop. My hair was so dry and all the water in the world couldent even help it, i ended up doing a deep condish with HE NOYF mixed with evoo and a little castor oil and slept with a shower cap on last night. i washed it out this morning and my hair was so soft and i was happy all over again!!! i love my natural hair!! Wow. It's funny (well not that funny) that you didn't feel comfortable wearing that style out. It actually looked really nice. I do understand how you feel though. Like the other ladies said, there are just going to be times when you don't like the way your hair turned out. There's just no way to avoid that.
