Knock off product list? Empty Knock off product list?

Post by IJustWannaKnow2 24th June 2010, 9:30 am

Hey, I like CDs products and Oyin Handmade, etc. but it can take a bite out of the wallet if you catch my drift.
Anyone know if there's some comprehensive list for products that are the same as the more popular ones, but are much cheaper?

For instance:
Miss Jessies curly pudding = Organic root stimulator Smooth n Hold pudding

Thanks much.
Peace.

Great thread! (and excellent way to save $$$)

Carol's Daughter = ceXpress (Wal-mart)

ceXpress is really Carol's Daughter just cheaper and under a different name

I Love this! I'm not sure about the comprehesive list. But has anyone tried the smooth n hold pudding? I have it at home, but have yet to try it.

I really hope this thread takes off flying because it doesn't make sense to spend $$$ on a product when you can find it's duplicate by another brand.

I saw CExpress in Walmart. It's all red stickered, so it got my attention but I didn't like the ingredients at all. This is not the same stuff as Carol's Daughter. In fact there is or was a lawsuit between the two companies. Not sure if it was resolved or dropped.

If so I'll have to tell my girlfriend because she uses Carol's Tui Oil to undo her twists and braids.

From what I read they are identical. I never bothered to compare.

They are different ... and they don't have comparable products for all CDs stuff. For example, there's no Cxpress version of the Hair Balm or Mimosa Hair Honey, etc. (at least that I am aware of). There is also no comparable product for the Tui oil that your friend uses.

Same with CURLS --- the Target brand has different ingredients.

So the lineup is different but with the items that are comparable to CD products are the ingredients different?

I edited my response. They are definitely not the same and you can Google and see Carol's Daughter is suing CExpress or they're suing her. The two aren't playing well together.

WOW....I guess they were using her name to gain profits. When I read the press release it was saying that Lisa Price was launching that line also.
