I finally BC'd !!!!!!...Now What ?

Hey everyone ... I finally did it!
I finally BC'd!!!!
I really can't believe all my hair is GONE!
I've gone through so many up's and down's...and tons of bad hair days! I'm so happy that this is the end! Finally I am 100% natural!

... I still can't believe I did it! - I really miss my hair length, and I really miss what I used to look like, but I know with some time- I will be back with a head full of long natural hair !

Thanks everyone for all the support! I couldn't have done it without you all!

Being natural is a different look. When I look in the mirror I realize that it's the way God intended me to look which makes it the perfect look. He doesn't make mistakes.

I see some great curls. How long did you transition? What did you do for your hair after the chop?

I transitioned for... 11 Months! ( I did two mini chops ) those were really tough too.... and then yesterday I took it to the next step with my BC!

Right now for my hair... I'm just using water and conditioner, oh and my its a 10 leave in conditioner !
My hair is really curly, and I can actually get some Bangs! But I'm in a state of "wow" right now ...

Congrats thatMochagirl! Looks great! When you say mini chops, about how much hair, and in what periods in your transition (i.e. 6 mos post, 3 mos post)?

Thanks everyone - I'm still in a state of "shock" from loosing all my hair length, I was so used to walking around with length - so now I'm just trying to get my confidence back.

I did my first mini chop about 5 months post relaxer and that was 2 inches and my second mini chop of 1 inch at 8 months post..

I miss my hair, but I love being natural and I guess in time I will have my length bacK!

Honestly, [ and i could be bias because im natural lol] but i prefer your curls. they're really gorgeous! Hope the change isnt too tough. embrace the process :-). have you gotten any reactions yet?

Yes, I've gotten mostly shock, good and bad reactions. All of my friends prefer me with long hair, but they all said it looks good on me, and that soon in time I should see some growth. My boyfriend is ok, and says I look cute - He is supportive of me and it really means a lot to me.

The worse reaction was from my mom... its been really hard on her, and well she has made me regret cutting my hair a few times, but I have some natural friends that keep me feeling good, and I'm so happy to have a few ppl in my life that support my decision and keep me from crying of shock, because this BC was a HUGE step for me.

i know what you mean, i'm still in the first few days after a chop and it is hard. i still haven't gotten the confidence to cut the last inch of relaxed hair out of the back.

at least washing it is easier now!!!! no more crazy amount of breakage at demarcation line. i feel very happy for you!!!!

Cut the last inch off! believe me, I was the last person people thought would ever cut their hair, and I did it!

Opinions from family & friends are really important. Although somtimes we try and make it seem like it doesnt matter, the reality is -we do care. So I commend you for making a decision for long term gratification! Your mother will come around, lol, it probably just shocked her.Lol!
