A85 is still in!

Thanks again for the compliments everyone!! My hair is still straight and looking nice. I have been putting castor oil in my scalp every once in a while and moisturizing with sheamoisture or the avocado butter that I bought. I've noticed I use waaaaaay less product when my hair is straight, which causes me to wonder if I am using tooo much product when my hair is curly.

At night after massaging my scalp and brushing with my denman I have been either putting my hair in one big bantu knot (with no band just a pin to secure) or doing a ponytail that is pinned under or bunned. This has worked great for me, I have not put anymore heat in my hair since it was done (a little over a week ago) and it is still bouncy. I do miss my curls mucho so I will probably go back to curly next week sometime or I may do a flexirod set on my dry straight hair or a braid and curl...IDK

For the month of FEB. I will continue to do buns (experimenting more with diff styles) and baggie at night as needed. Hopefully I will finally get my camera charger from DC so I can take lots of pix.

Today I washed my hair...no more straight hair!!! I oiled my hair and let it sit for awhile then washed with diluted shampoo. I wanted to try my avocado butter so I did not use any conditioner. My hair was soft but a bit tangled in the usual trouble spot. I detangled while applying the butter and braided my hair. My hair feels super soft and looks shiny. You can't tell the shine from the pix (i'll have my camera charger soon and will be able to use my cam to take some good high quality pix) but it is there and the softness is there. I'm baggying with a plastic cap and plan to either wear the braids in a bun or wear my tam tomorrow. I will add moisture/hold etc tomorrow morn depending on the state that my hair is in...here are some before (after taking out a braided bun on straight hair) and after washing

The curls are back and looking good.

I like the avocado butter!! my hair feels moisturized and happy even tho I didn't add extra moisture this AM. I woke up late so I wore my braids in a tucked under ponytail...nothing special...I will prolly take the braids down and do a bun for the rest of the week. I saw great progress in hair health after wearing buns for awhile so I want to try it again.

I'm getting ready to put some castor oil to my scalp and wait for the snow to start falling!! I want a snow day !!! lol

It's really evident that you took care of your hair while it was straight cuz your hair looks really healthy! And I love that the curls are back. Yay!!!

So what are the benefits of using the avocado butter on your face. Is that for dry skin? Will that work on individuals with oily or combo skin types?

Hello all and happy snow day for those in the NY/NJ/DC/PA etc. area lolol

Today I layed around all day and did nothing to my hair. My hair is still very soft but I do plan to add a little butter to it just because I have been laying around with no satin cap/pillowcase.

I purchased my avocado butter from http://www.organic-creations.com/servlet/StoreFront for a good price. They have very good prices ex. 4oz. for $4.00 (sorry for mentioning that PJs) lol

The texture of the butter is very smooth and creamy so it goes on skin easily. I have normal/sensitive skin but had a dry spot in between my eyebrows that showed up in the am or during the day no matter what I used but this has not been present since using the butter. The sides of my nose are also no longer dry.

I do want to give it a few more days to give my complete review but soo far I have seen very glowy (lol) fresh bright looking skin upon rising. I got up, went to brush my teeth and looked in the mirror and it looked as if my face was already ready for the day...it really makes my face glow! A little goes a long way with this butter but I can feel the smoothness as soon as I start to rub it on.


I want to try it on some of my rougher spots (back of legs etc) lol and see how it works...i will report back. I will also do a bit more research to check the benefits of avocado on skin.

I took my braids down and decided I wanted to wear a bun. I added a little SheaMoisture to my edges and the tips of my hair. I used my hands to smoosh it into a high pony, wrapped a scrunchie around and then used another ponyholder to secure the bun. I used a kneehigh to smooth my edged some more but then realized I liked the look and decided to wear it as a headband lol








PS My face was still all glowy from the avocado butter this morn...I didnt even want to wash it lol

I rememer back from my relaxed days...big hair was a bad thing. That meant you needed a perm...now I'm wishing for it. Too funny

So true! With relaxer you want the straightest and most contained hair possible. But I can't get enough of big hair now!!!! Oh how the tables have turned ...

I saw a pic of my hair after my henna adventures..lol geesh it was really bright...I have since toned down the red with commercial dye...I may try a henna gloss
