Yea that excess shampooing jacked me up...I am goin to do my honey treatment and DC with heat tonite then back to the bun...I need a creative diff type of bun to try... I'm getting bored lol

Yea, buns can get boring but the benefits are worth it. I have a few different options in my FOTKI album but I was quickly running out of ideas. Which is one of the reasons for twists this month

Not at all!! I love big hair so I use my "special occasions" to show it off. Protective styling is helping me retain growth so that's even bigger hair to rock!

i was sooo sick with some kinda bug...nasty ppl on the train coughing and breathing germs everywhere...even with my frequent hand washing i couldnt escape the icky germs...time to increase my vitamin c intake and step up my fitness game. luckily this time my hair did not suffer, it was in a bun so it managed to stay away from matted tangled mess land.

I will take pix as soon as I figure out how to replicate that bun. I'm looking to extend my bun wearing into next month so I am trying to gather different options.

right now ima bout to moisturize and tie my hair back up...I have realized that I need to use every single ounce of every single product I have in my stash before I buy anything else. period lol I have a drawer full of products and some butters (avocado, aloe) on the way...smh at myself...no more buying anything until I use everything.

Today was MLk day and I thought about how powerful and timeless Dr. King's words were still. I couldn't help but think about how Haiti was shaken at its core and how the need for justice and brotherly love is needed there more than ever. Special prayers go out to Haiti


@Chrs the butters have not come yet...I'm really itching to try them on my skin and hair. I'll let you know how I like them as soon as I get them.

I still haven't attempted that bun I posted, i hope to try it sometime this week. I think I'm goin to continue the protective styling thing into feb. I'm already seeing a difference in the way my hair is behaving and it is lovely. My hair stays more moisturized and i'm already seeing less splits, tangles and knots. The protective styling also help me keep my hands out of my hair, the only time I'm really touching it is at night when Im massaging my scalp (something I've grown to love). Maybe i'll try twists in Feb. or some combo i'm not sure. My hair tends to look weird in twists and usually unravels but maybe i'll give it a shot.

You and other curlies are inspiring me to do protective styling. I need to come up with a plan though. I took my mini twist out Sunday after 8 days of wearing them. I think I am gonna put them back in on Saturday.

Today my hair is straight!!! The tips of my hair needed a trim badly like I could see and feel the split ends. I only trust myself to trim the very front so I decided to go to a salon and get it trimmed while straight ( I dont trust anyone to trim it curly). I prepooed with olive & coconut oil and made sure to use heat protect before the lady gave me a blow out. She cut about 1.5 to 2 inches but my hair feels great and looks healthy. No more splits!!! It will be straight for the week and I will still wear buns.

Thanks for the comments everyone!!! I do looooooove the versatility...it is great for someone as indecisive as myself lol I also love that it's not flat and stick straight but has body and oomph.
