Wigs
I plan on buying a half wig tomorrow to try and aid me in my "bad hair days" or just for whenever I feel like wearing one. I want something curly or wavy, so I don't have to worry so much about getting the new growth in the front of my hair to lay down flat & straight.
Has anyone used half wigs/partial wigs?
Pros and Cons?
If you can remember the style of wig (name/number/brand) and can post a picture that would be helpful too.

I used to wear half wigs religiously. The cons would be that you run the risk of thinning out your edges from trying to blend your hair with them or slicking back your edges. They can also cause thinning in the spots where the combs secure the wig to your hair. Other than that they are a great protective style. I think my fotki is locked so I'll post pics for you.
Re: Wigs
Thanks Latoya! That helps a lot. I wouldn't really try to blend the hair...I would probably just wear a wide head band and or maybe two smaller ones.
That second wig is more of the look I'm hoping to find. I've found that type of hair when buying tracks for a quick weave, but I've never looked for a wig. I also wouldn't mind really small "corkscrew" type coils, similar to 4a natural hair.

I did wear half wigs at times when I was transitioning. They helped a lot! Some people braid their hair underneath the wig to help keep the wig in tact and so that their own hair isnt flying all over the place.

Re: Wigs
I LOVE my curly half wigs. I usually knot out the front of my hair first so it blends well. I wear them occasionally when I'm having bad hair days..here are a few pics:
Stuck a huge flower in the front & took pics at the park!

Out & about..pinned my knot out into a hump in the front w/the half wig in the back (blended sooooo well!):

Re: Wigs
Thanks dear! I got it here in Brooklyn back in February & I haven't found another like it since! I'm so upset because it's DONE FOR & I need a new one! I don't even know the name of it. I just go to different wig salons and ask to see all their 'afro wigs'..
Re: Wigs
Wow. With the wigs/half-wigs you ladies look like different people! lol. Great versatility!

I dont use any adhesives or any tape I just cut the lace and BAM I also dont use their clips nor wear a wig cap I conrow my hair back and place it on and Iam as cute as I can be. Also with this wig I modified to a short curly bob it was just too much hair for me so I broke out my scissors and went to work!

Re: Wigs
So glad to find this post. I think this might be a solution for those days when I am craving big hair, while I figure out how to manage my own.

This is cute! Hurry up & post pics of you rocking it! I'm contemplating getting a lacefront as well. My sister let me try her straight one one with the same method that you use (no glue or adhesive) and this is the result:
